Say yes, because it is God who enables you!

Many times we are afraid of not feeling up to the positions and challenges given to us, we forget who is the God who enables us and thinking about this, today I want to bring in this text biblical truths about our identity and about the One we believe in! When the Lord called Moses he immediately thought of five reasons to say no and we also sometimes raise these same points as a reason to give up which are described in Exodus 3 through 4. 1. “Who am I?” Moses thought that God had chosen the wrong person, because he did not feel able to accomplish what was asked of him. It was too much responsibility! Have you ever felt this way? Have you ever thought about giving up something because you thought you couldn’t do it? God hears your cry

There are situations in life that are desperate. Calamities happen to families, cities, and nations. Health crises, wars, earthquakes, floods, deaths, rampant violence, persecution and so many other evils. These situations leave people terrified, afraid, and not knowing what to do. What the Bible says In Lamentations, it is told that the few Jews left in Israel lived this way, in the midst of chaos and fear. They were terrified and hopeless, but Jeremiah decided to summon them to cry out to God. It was time to confess their sins to the Most High and ask for help. Righteous they prayed and poured out their hearts before God for his merciful action. (Lam 5.1-22). In Psalm 51.17 David speaks that God is pleased with a broken spirit and does not despise a repentant heart. In 2 Chronicles 7.14, the Lord appeared to Solomon and told him that if his people would humble themselves, pray, seek and turn from their wicked ways, then he would hear them, forgive them and heal the land. Psalm 107 tells how God acted on behalf of his people, when in distress, the people cried out to the Lord and he delivered them from their tribulations. […]

Meekness, the missing fruit of the Spirit

Do you consider yourself a meek person? Meekness is a fruit of the Holy Spirit that seems so lacking in our society. What we see most often are reactive people, who get stressed over little things and more than that end up being aggressive in their communication with others. But surely this is not how those who have been transformed in Christ should act, is it? We serve a God who is meek and who values such a way of behaving, and today we will see what the Bible has to tell us about being meek. Be careful how you respond An angry man provokes quarrels, and he of a violent temper commits many sins. Proverbs 29:22 Our Father is pleased with those who have meekness in their hearts, being humble, kind, calm, and sure toward their neighbor. The enemy is quick and often provokes various disagreements just so that we fall into his temptations, but we must pray and watch always, so as not to give in to any sin. We are sinners and failures, so shame before God’s presence can so often come upon us, but let me let you in on a secret… did you know that our Father is willing to forgive you no matter what the mistake was? Sometimes we may think we are not worthy of God’s love because we have made mistakes or our faults, but he sent his son to save us from condemnation and today we can have free access to Him. We are set free from our fears, bonds and our sins no longer dictate who we are, for in Christ we find our true identity. We understand the identity that God gave us when He created us. The burden of Christ is light

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 How this passage can impact us, isn’t it? These days I was very busy, full of commitments and issues to resolve, but then in a conversation with a dear friend, she reminded me of this passage so precious and necessary to us. Have you complimented anyone today?

Praise is just as important as warning. How many times have you mentally praised someone for a change in attitude and forgotten to verbalize it? Certainly we remember more to demand changes than to praise, when everything is fine we tend not to pay attention to the behavioral changes of those we live with, but when people do something that displeases us, we soon notice and get upset. Family relationships Now bringing it to a more specific topic, I have an 11 year old brother and like any child, sometimes he is a bit fumbling or doesn’t want to do what was asked of him at the time he should have done it and recently I realized that I as a sister was taking the wrong approach by just criticizing him about these things. Of course I can admonish him to be more committed to his tasks, but how many times has he done what he was supposed to do and come to me happy, and I in turn said “that’s very good, but it could always be like this”. Individualism does not come from God

Today I opened my cell phone and the first thing I saw on my social networks was a publication that praised the fact that people increasingly want to be alone. This is not in the context of taking time for yourself and reflecting, but of not wanting to live with other people, because as it was written in the unfortunate image “it’s work”. Now, is this what God expects from us? Is this the way Jesus would act? I have the impression that with each passing year I see a hyper valorization of “me”, where what is individual over collective good comes out. The Seasons of Life: Winter

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot; Ecclesiastes 3:1,2 Today we will finish the series “The Seasons of Life”, where through 4 texts we were led to reflect on the moments of our lives by making an analogy with the seasons of the year: spring, summer, autumn and winter. Without a doubt, we can say that our life is full of different circumstances that are not always well defined as the seasons. Sometimes spring is not only flowers and thinking about this I remembered a violin concerto by a very famous Italian composer named Antonio Vivaldi, entitled “The Four Seasons”. Is your heart a fertile soil?

In today’s reflection I want to remember the parable of the sower found in Matthew 13, in this passage Jesus speaks to a crowd in parables and then talks about the fertile soil which is an analogy to our heart: 3 Then he told them many things in parables, saying: “A farmer went out to sow his seed. 4 As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 5 Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. Have you been humble?

Today we will talk a little bit about humility here, a trait that is so important but sometimes seems so lacking for us. Humility is the opposite of being proud, arrogant, or haughty. As such, this is a trait that is highly praised throughout the Bible and often precedes honor, as is written in Proverbs 15:33, and 18:12. In the eyes of the world, many times being a humble person is a sign of weakness or something bad, but we should not see it this way, because it takes a lot of wisdom and self-control to act this way. The importance of constancy in your life

How important it is to stand firm, to be constant in what we do. We have been living in liquid times, where the word constancy has been losing its meaning, however, the word of God instructs us to be constant. In 1 Corinthians 15:58, it is written: “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast and constant, always abundant in the work of the Lord, knowing that your work is not vain in the Lord. Unfortunately, what we have seen out there is exactly the opposite and as a result we have the increase of divorces, constant changes of employment, people giving up on their dreams, and furthermore, many giving up on preaching the gospel. But as we have seen, the words of the apostle Paul exhort us to take a counter-cultural attitude and be firm, just like our God. We are approaching the end of the year, a time when everyone starts to make their plans for the coming year, even those who are not used to planning things have something in their heart that they would like to accomplish ahead. Prayer for our Families!

Today is the national family day here in Brazil and thinking about that today we will pray for our homes, for our families. As I wrote in the last text, family is a precious gift given by God to us and the greatest gift that we can give to our family is our time. We are in a time of festivities where many worries about giving expensive gifts, but think: our savior, Jesus, was the one who gave the most gifts and do you know what? He didn’t give gold or silver, but he served, giving all the attention to those who crossed his path and even giving His life for us. Beware of outsourcing the faith!

There is a refuge for every moment, the presence of God, and today we will pray to find peace in the arms of the One who is peace itself. Don’t let the enemy fool you, you are precious

Today I want to talk about a theme that may be a little polemic for some, but is certainly necessary in view of the adversities experienced in recent years worldwide, and that is depression. Procrastination and priorities

Today we are on our second day of the “3 days to get out of procrastination” series, on the first day we reflected on how being anxious and thinking about the whole paralyzes and today we will look for a solution to that. Let’s see, if being anxious and thinking about the whole paralyzes, then we need to deal with one goal or need at a time, but where to start? What are your priorities? Do you know what your priorities are? Here is the first step, ask the Lord for wisdom to define what you have the most urgency to accomplish and put it on paper, organizing and visualizing your tasks can help you a lot. Another point is: have goals that are feasible, specific, and easy. What does this mean? Well, feasible is something achievable, something that can be done, specific is something measurable, concrete and objective, and easy is to turn a certain activity into its easiest possible version. Are you looking for direction in your emotional life? Then there is no better person to direct you than our good God. He knows what is best for us, what we need, and at what time we need it, so before we seek anyone else we must first seek our Father and He will direct us. It is in a daily relationship with our Father, that we find our identity and emotional security. Secure people have secure relationships, and this security is in God, for we are His children, and this is the true source of happiness. Remember that a boyfriend, husband or wife will never be able to satisfy you completely. Another thing is to look for someone with real values, remember that beauty is fleeting! Yes, this is a text for singles. But don’t panic! Don’t leave yet. Because if you are dating or married, you can send this blog post to someone. Of course, I don’t have a perfect marriage. After all, how could a relationship be if it is made up of two imperfect people. But if someone were to ask me for advice regarding this subject, I would pass along some that are listed below. #1 – Before looking for a boyfriend/girlfriend, look for a relationship with God Only God can complete you, heal you, and give meaning to your life. After all, who better than your Creator to reveal the purposes for which you came into the world?
