This week we’ve already talked about outsourcing faith and the importance of breaking through the spiritual and mental barriers imposed by the enemy to keep us from God. Today I want to pray with you specifically for forgiveness from the Lord for our sins that keep us from Him and to break down all the barriers that have kept us from coming into His presence with intimacy.
I leave here a passage especially for you today:
“Examine everything. Hold fast what is good. Abstain from every appearance of evil. And may the God of peace Himself sanctify you in all things, and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be kept completely blameless for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ”. – 1 Thessalonians 5:21-23
Remembering that you don’t have to repeat the prayer exactly as I’m going to leave it here, because each one of us has a specific way of communicating with the Lord. But if you want to follow me, it will be a pleasure, feel free to speak it in your own way.
Prayer
Beloved God, I thank You for giving Your Son to die for me on the cross for my sins, so great is Your love for humanity that even when sin entered the world You immediately made a plan for us not to live apart from You. I have lived away from You out of shame, I have sinned and I don’t know how to redeem myself because I feel unworthy of all this love. But I know that this is a lie told by the enemy to keep me away from You. I ask you Lord to cast that thought out of my heart.
My Lord, forgive me for my sins, I know that I have done wrong and I am sorry, I feel ashamed, but I pray now for forgiveness and I know that in You, I receive true forgiveness and I am freed from the weight of guilt. Your word says that Christ’s judgment is gentle and his burden is light, so I ask that the weight that I carry be replaced with the light burden that we find as we walk with Jesus.
Dear Father, may all the self-imposed barriers in my life be broken down, so that every day I may have more intimacy with You, to praise and thank You! I love you God, you are my Father, my best friend, and my most precious thing. My God, Yours is the power, the glory, and the honor forever. It is in the name of Jesus that I pray, give thanks and ask that my words may reach the Lord like a sweet perfume!
