Armor of Christ

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.” Ephesians 6:10 Before putting on the armor of God, it is essential to understand that our strength does not come from ourselves, but from the Lord. We must be strengthened by God’s power, for only in Him do we have the ability to resist the enemy’s schemes. Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces; therefore, we need divine protection. The armor of God is given to us so we may stand firm against the attacks of the enemy. Without it, we are vulnerable and easily deceived. The devil uses doubts, fears, and temptations to lead us away from the truth, and only spiritual armor can keep us protected. Obedience to the Word and constant prayer are essential to prepare us for this daily battle. To seek our strength in God means to develop a life of intimacy with Him. Prayer, studying the Bible, and fellowship with other believers help strengthen our faith. Lord, today I come before You to surrender every part of my life to Your perfect control. I know that everything has its appointed time, and nothing happens outside of Your sovereign plan. Help me to trust in You, even when I do not understand Your ways. Teach me to wait patiently, without demanding answers, knowing that each season has a purpose and that You are faithful to fulfill Your promises in my life. Father, strengthen my faith in moments of uncertainty. When the waiting feels long and the silence seems deafening, remind me that You are working behind the scenes. I’ve mentioned this a few times before, but I want to remind you again: Alone, you may get somewhere, but with God, you will go much further. Your work and strength may keep you moving, but only by walking with Christ will you reach a place far greater than what you had planned. Seeking God “Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:12-13 To discern God’s will, it is essential to seek intimacy with Him through prayer and the Bible. He is always here, guiding us and revealing His plans, but when we seek Him and dive deeper into His Word, we become more sensitive to His voice, developing a courageous heart full of trust in the Father. The Bible is a lamp to our feet (Psalm 119:105), illuminating the path we should follow. God, I know You are everything I need. No circumstance in this world changes who You are, and I am grateful for Your constant presence and promises in my life, which remain steadfast beyond human struggles. Our limitations often try to confine You, but may my heart always remember Your infinite mercy and love, and how Your words are eternal and unchanging. Teach me, Father, to trust in You completely, surrendering every decision and plan into Your hands. We are human, and daily, we deal with other humans—with their mistakes, failures, and shortcomings. Because we are so accustomed to living with people, we sometimes project human traits onto God in our minds, thinking He is like us, with flaws and limitations. But even though He once became flesh and walked among us, He remained God. Constant God “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6 It’s not because people have abandoned you that God will do the same. Or because you lost a job that God stopped being your provider. People are not as constant as God; they easily break promises and lose focus on their goals. The World and the Kingdom Need More “Burning Bushes.” Regardless of the area where your calling lies or the “title” you hold, it’s necessary to be more than just a leader in it; you need to be a burning bush! Be Used “‘What an amazing sight!’ he thought. ‘Why isn’t the bush burning up? I must go see it.’ When the Lord saw Moses coming to take a closer look, God called to him from the middle of the bush, ‘Moses! The start of a new year is always an opportunity for renewal and reflection. In times of uncertainty, we often question what the future holds and what challenges may arise. However, the Word of God offers us promises that can strengthen us and guide us through every step. In it, we find reasons to trust fully in God, knowing that He has control and plans for our lives. Facing New Beginnings “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:19 He is doing something new. We, as humans, are constantly changing. Our desires, dreams, ideas, projects, and feelings evolve day by day. This transformation is beneficial, driving us to grow and progress when approached with wisdom. But we often forget that God does not change like we do. He and His Word endure forever! Unchanging Love “Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:21-23 The God of today is the same God from the Bible, who cared for and guided His people. He sent His Son out of love to die for us. God’s love is a constant amidst our changes. While our emotions fluctuate, His faithfulness remains steadfast. Prayer: Following God’s plans

Lord, in the decisive moments of our lives, when comfort calls us back, and the unknown challenges us, grant us the courage to burn our “carts,” sink our “ships,” and follow Your call without looking back. Help us to abandon any plan B, trusting that the future You have for us is far greater than we can imagine. Father, just as Elisha responded to Your call with radical courage, we want to do the same. Let us live without reservations, without hesitation, surrendering our old habits and plans so that You can create something new in us. Grant us the strength to walk by faith, even when the path ahead is unclear. We know that life with Jesus requires surrender and sacrifice. Help us understand that by letting go of the past, we are stepping into the fullness of Your promises. May we trust completely in Your plan, even when the way is uncertain, and the decisions are tough. Lord, we find true transformation in You alone. At times, we will face the opportunity to remain stagnant and stuck, to revisit the past and reopen a wound, or to move forward. In those moments, we must make an important decision: to step into the unknown and embrace incredible new experiences, or to stay in the familiar place of comfort, not moving toward God’s promises. Sink the second option You’ve probably heard the expression “Burn the ships.” It is linked to Hernán Cortés, who, in 1519, ordered his ships to be burned so his soldiers could not retreat. We see this concept reflected in several biblical stories, such as in 1 Kings 19. The prophet Elijah finds Elisha and calls him to be his successor. In response, Elisha performs a radical act: he slaughters the oxen he was using for work and burns the equipment, symbolizing the end of his old life. This act demonstrates his decision to follow God without reservations or plans to return. That’s what the expression means: having no plan to turn back. Many times we are on a path, and then, we divert our gaze. This changes our steps, actions, and goals, either leading us to the right path or diverting us to the wrong one. Towards Christ “But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, ‘Lord, save me!’ Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. ‘You of little faith,’ he said, ‘why did you doubt?” Matthew 14:30-31 Keeping watch over the direction of our gaze is something that defines the direction of our steps. In Matthew 14, we see the story of Peter, where Jesus calls him to walk on water, and he goes to meet the Son. While Peter’s eyes were on Jesus, he stayed above the water. Your strength comes from God. He offers grace and love so that by seeking Him, you become strong. In Luke 19, we see the story of Zacchaeus, a man small in stature, but with an immense desire to see the Lord. Stay exposed “A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd.” Luke 19:2-3 As we read the verses of this story, we might mistakenly interpret that the Lord saw Zacchaeus because he was in an elevated position. Zacchaeus was the chief tax collector, a group whose social status was equivalent to that of sinners, prostitutes, and lepers at the time. For this reason, he was considered as sinful and impure as they were, and people hated him. He always walked accompanied by Roman guards to ensure his safety. Even knowing the risk of being lynched, Zacchaeus exposed himself. He placed himself in a position of visibility, seeking to see the Son of God.
