The importance of constancy in your life

The importance of constancy in your life

How important it is to stand firm, to be constant in what we do. We have been living in liquid times, where the word constancy has been losing its meaning, however, the word of God instructs us to be constant. In 1 Corinthians 15:58, it is written: “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast and constant, always abundant in the work of the Lord, knowing that your work is not vain in the Lord.

Unfortunately, what we have seen out there is exactly the opposite and as a result we have the increase of divorces, constant changes of employment, people giving up on their dreams, and furthermore, many giving up on preaching the gospel. But as we have seen, the words of the apostle Paul exhort us to take a counter-cultural attitude and be firm, just like our God.

Without constancy we are not able to build anything, nor to get anywhere. Whoever has tried to learn an instrument knows very well how important daily study is for progress and with our faith, it is no different, we need constantly to be nourished by the word, to be in prayer and to talk about God’s love so that more people can be reached.

Moses, a great example of constancy

Moses was a biblical character who showed constancy in his journey here on earth.  For he persevered in following his people to the Promised Land, even dealing with a generation of unbelievers, who doubted the sovereignty of the Lord and even denied it, worshipping a false god.

The people, when leaving Egypt, were not constant in trusting in the promises of our God and spent a long period in the desert, even because they needed to be molded to enter the Promised Land. Fortunately, Moses did not give up and even interceded for God not to destroy his people and finally God’s promise was fulfilled.

There are also countless other examples, like that of our master, Christ himself, who throughout his life had constancy in announcing his Father’s message and making disciples, even being persecuted, being the greatest example in constancy in loving, in his attitudes and in preaching repentance.

 Conclusion

We must follow these examples to build a solid life, without persevering it is very difficult to get somewhere. So, be constant not only in your day to day life, but in your life with God and keep investing in people who still do not know Christ, also persevere in the activities you get involved in your church, we can be tools in the hands of God, but we need to be constant and not discourage!

God bless you!
