The other day we wrote here about store up treasures in heaven, we saw that despite the importance of our work and projects, we must also keep in mind where our real good is, that is, in our eternal home. This reminds us that the riches of this world are temporary and as much as we should plan and save, we cannot see our neighbor in need and fail to act.
More than having a fat reserve, diversified investments that provide us with a secure future here on earth, when we are generous and invest in people, in the church, in the Kingdom of God, we are accumulating a secure treasure in heaven. So today I want to pray with you to rebuke greed, remembering that your trust is not in earthly possessions, but in God, even if overnight everything is lost, he will still take care of you, because you are His child. I leave here a passage especially for you today:
Sell your possessions and give to the needy. By this you will store up treasures in heaven, and the purses in heaven will not wear out or crumble. Your treasure will be secure; no thief will steal it and no moth will destroy it.
Luke 12:36
Remember that you don’t have to repeat the prayer exactly as I’m going to leave it here, because each one of us has a specific way of communicating with the Lord. But if you want to follow me, it will be a pleasure, feel free to speak it in your own way.
Prayer
Beloved God, I thank you for your care and love, for having mercy on me, even though I am just a sinner. I thank you for your provision, for all the goods that you have allowed me to gather so far, for food and for every thing that I may have even missed and not even realized was your care for my life.
Father I know that there are many people in delicate situations right now, without anything to eat, without a place to live, unemployed and in so many other unpleasant situations in the financial sphere that I can’t even mention. I pray that You will take care of them (quote in this part the names of the people you know, if you are in a delicate moment, expose your need to God), but I also pray that I can be a vessel of blessing at this moment for them.
Help me to see those who need my help, that in my heart there is no greed, but generosity, a desire to help others. I know that when I reach out my hand to another, You are also making sure that I lack nothing. Father, change the situation in my country and that by the end of the year there will be more people employed than unemployed.
I also pray that I will not fail Your Kingdom. My God, Yours is the power, the glory and the honor forever. It is in the name of Jesus that I pray, give thanks and ask that my words may reach the Lord like a sweet perfume!
