A blessed year is a year with the knee on the ground

To have a blessed year we need to keep our knees on the ground, that is, we need to pray. Prayer is the main way to develop intimacy with God and the prayer of the just is powerful, so it is one of the main weapons of everyone who believes in the Most High.

Surely, you have heard someone say that dialogue is the basis of every relationship, well, our way of dialoguing with the Lord is through prayer. Through prayer, we talk with our father, we are instructed by Him, we thank Him, and we deliver our supplications.

God hears your prayers

Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.

James 5:17,18

Perhaps at some point you thought that God no longer heard your prayers, but God always hears us. Often what happens is that we want an answer, but we are not able to hear, or simply do not want the answer our God is giving.

This happens because of our deceitful heart, because we are proponent in thinking that even sinners still know more than the Most High. Nevertheless, our Father is still ready to listen to us, but we need to remember that prayer is not a monologue, we also need to be willing to listen.

Be present when you pray!

And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

Matthew 6:7,8

Now you may be asking yourself “what do you mean by ‘being present’?”, well I’ve caught myself praying a few times in a vague way, either because I’m tired or because I’m running, but it shouldn’t be like this. We expect so much from God, but we commit so little ourselves.

When you pray, think about what you are saying. I, as a flawed person, have caught myself simply throwing words instead of praying, especially before going to sleep, and that famous prayer where we say “God, bless God”.

Now, imagine if someone you love very much and want to have a good relationship, would only talk to you out of habit or when you needed something. I’m sure it would hurt you, wouldn’t it?  Then, why do we think it differs with God? Well, if we want a blessed year we need to change that reality.

Conclusion

As we have already said here in the blog, a successful year is a year in God’s presence, where we give our plans and goals into his hands, and this happens through prayer, of relating with God daily.

If we want to live the supernatural of the Lord in our lives, we need to understand what his plans are for us and it is by talking to him and reading his words that we will reach such understanding.

God bless you!

We graduated from the Google Play Apps Accelerator 2026

We believe that technology and faith can walk hand in hand. This conviction has driven us since the very first day of the JFA Bible, and over the past few months it has led us to experience one of the most remarkable chapters in our history: we graduated with our new Bible AI app as part of the first global cohort of the Google Play Apps Accelerator 2026. We want to share with you not only the outcome, but also the behind-the-scenes journey of everything that happened. The invitation that changed our year At the end of 2025, Google launched the first edition of the Google Play Apps Accelerator, a pioneering global program that selected only 38 high-potential apps from around the world. Among them, only two were Brazilian, and Bible AI was one of them. We received the news with a mix of joy and gratitude. 12 weeks of the program During twelve intensive weeks, we immersed ourselves in masterclasses led by leaders in the global tech industry, one-on-one mentoring sessions covering everything from technical scalability to leadership, and exclusive conversations with experts from Google and some of the world’s largest technology companies. Every session helped us think bigger, […]

Prayer: Running from religious fear

Prayer: Running from religious fear

In the previous text, we talked a little about religious OCD and how it takes our focus away from what Christ truly expects from us. Today, I want to invite you to pray with me about this subject, so that we may feel free in the Father’s presence, seeking Him with love, gratitude, and true peace. You do not need to pray exactly as I will write here. Open your heart genuinely to God. But it will be a pleasure to accompany you in this moment of prayer and seeking. Prayer Father, I know that many times my mind is filled with fear, guilt, and thoughts that steal the peace of my faith. I know that You do not want me to live imprisoned by spiritual anxiety, constantly trying to earn a love that was already given to me on the cross. Teach me to rest in You and to remember that Your love is not sustained by my performance, but by Your infinite grace. When intrusive thoughts come, when the fear of condemnation tries to dominate my heart, and when I feel spiritually overwhelmed, help me remember Your truth. Your Word says that I was not given a spirit […]
