
Prayer: Turned toward Christ
Father, I know that many times I’ve befriended what killed Your Son. The world offers sin that no longer seems so frightening. It’s presented in a way that looks comforting and normal. God, break the earthly ties that bind me, clothe me with Your truth, and free me from the silent slavery that pulls me away from You. Jesus conquered sin and triumphed over death, yet so many of us still stay close to what destroys. Purify my heart, Lord. Help me see that sin is not entertainment, rest, or escape, but separation from Your presence. Make me watchful and aware that the enemy advances slowly upon a sleeping heart. I want to surrender daily to Your Spirit and seek Your presence in every moment of my days. Reveal where there are errors and weaknesses in me. Lead me in the right path and make me sensitive to discern. Keep me away from places where what should be hated has been normalized.
