Obedience is a key that opens doors human strength could never move. Many times, we wait to see the miracle before obeying—but God calls us to obey before seeing.
In John 2:5, at the wedding in Cana, Mary said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you”. That simple instruction preceded Jesus’ first miracle—the transformation of water into wine. The miracle didn’t begin when the wine appeared, but when someone decided to obey.
A Step Directed
“Simon answered, ‘Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because You say so, I will let down the nets.’”
Luke 5:5
To obey is to acknowledge that God knows what He’s doing, even when we don’t understand the path.
Peter experienced this when Jesus asked him to cast the nets again after a long, fruitless night. With a single act of faith, the impossible happened—the fish came, the boat overflowed, and Peter’s heart was transformed.
Many times, the miracle we’ve been asking for is on the other side of simple obedience—a single step guided by God. The Kingdom of God moves by faith, and true faith is expressed through practice—through the daily “yes” we give to God without hesitation or fear. When we obey, our actions declare that we trust more in what He says than in what we see.
The kingdom through us
“Nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is within you.”
Luke 17:21
Before transforming the world around us, the Kingdom of God must first transform the world within us. God’s work begins in the heart—in the way we think, feel, and respond. The Kingdom is not only a future promise but a present reality, shaping who we are from the inside out.
It is within us that God plants the principles of His Kingdom: love, forgiveness, justice, faith, and peace.
When we allow the Holy Spirit to govern our thoughts and actions, we begin to manifest the Kingdom naturally in our everyday lives. What changes is not only our surroundings but also our perspective and response to them.
Inner transformation is the greatest miracle we can experience. When the Kingdom blossoms within us, we begin to reflect the character of Christ. As Paul wrote in Romans 14:17, “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”
The Kingdom is a spiritual reality that begins in a surrendered heart and expands through an obedient life.
A Small Seed
“He told them another parable: ‘The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.’”
Matthew 13:31–32
Jesus compared the Kingdom of God to a tiny mustard seed. This parable teaches us that the Kingdom often begins in an invisible way, yet it carries within it the power of great transformation. What may seem small or insignificant today can become something extraordinary in God’s hands.
God values humble beginnings. As Zechariah 4:10 says, “Who dares despise the day of small beginnings?”. The Kingdom grows at the right time, at the right pace, and with deep roots. Our role is to plant, to water, and to trust. Faith is like that seed—unseen at first, yet capable of moving mountains when cultivated with consistency.
The small acts of obedience and faith are the seeds God uses to reveal His glory. A simple act of forgiveness, a silent prayer, a gesture of love—these things have the power to take root and flourish in the Kingdom. When we trust the small seeds God plants in us and nurture them with love, we realize that the miracle is not found in the size of the beginning, but in the faithfulness of the journey and the perseverance to the end.
The Kingdom is alive, dynamic, and begins now—in our daily “yes” to Him.
