Resurrection and eternal life!

“And this is what he promised us—eternal life.”

1 John 2:25

Eternal life is the greatest gift we receive in Christ. It is not something earned by human merit, but by God’s grace through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. This promise reminds us that death is not the end, but the door to eternity with the Lord.

Living with this certainty transforms the way we face the present. When we know our story does not end here, we can better deal with pain, loss, and challenges, for nothing is final. The hope of eternal life sustains us and gives us reason to remain steadfast, even in the midst of adversity.

Jesus Himself declared that He is the resurrection and the life, and that whoever believes in this truth, though they die, will live. This is the guarantee that by believing in Him, we will experience victory over death. Eternal life is the fulfillment of God’s love, which never abandons us, not even in the face of what we see as the end.

Learning and transformation

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”

1 Peter 1:3

The resurrection of Christ was not just a historical event, but the foundation of our faith and the greatest lesson that in God there is always a new beginning. Death could not hold Jesus, and through this victory, He teaches us that nothing on earth is definitive when we are in His hands.

Every detail of the resurrection shows us that hope in Christ is alive. The stone was rolled away to reveal that the impossible becomes possible when God acts. In the same way, situations in our lives that seem final can be transformed by His mighty hand.

Thus, the resurrection invites us to live differently. We no longer need to fear tomorrow, because Christ has already overcome the greatest enemy: death. This lesson gives us courage to face challenges with faith, knowing that the final word always belongs to God.

The way of eternity

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms.”

John 14:1-2

The certainty of eternal life not only gives us hope, but also brings us peace. Knowing that there is a place prepared for us in God’s presence calms our souls in the face of life’s uncertainties. We don’t need to live enslaved by fear of the future, measuring our worth through achievements or possessions, for our eternity is secure in Christ.

We must not neglect what God places in our hands. Reverence, boldness, and diligence must be present in us. But worry, anxiety, and excessive pressure on ourselves are not the foundation for living in light of eternal life.

Faith is the foundation of this peace. It is believing even when we do not see, trusting even when we do not understand, and resting even in the midst of storms. Faith enables us to see beyond circumstances, reminding us that life here is only a rehearsal for eternity.

This hope calls us to live in holiness and devotion to God. Paul reminds us in Philippians 3:20 that “our citizenship is in heaven. Therefore, as we await eternal life, we are invited to live with purpose, spreading the love, faith, and peace that only Jesus can offer.

The right place

Throughout life, we are constantly called to make choices. Some seem obvious, attractive, and full of opportunities. Others require faith, patience, and trust in God. The problem is that not everything that looks good to our eyes is truly what is best for our future. The Bible shows us this through the story of Abraham and Lot, a narrative that remains extremely relevant for everyone who desires to live according to God’s will. Appearances can be deceiving “Lot looked around and saw that the whole plain of the Jordan toward Zoar was well watered, like the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt. (This was before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.)” Genesis 13:10 There came a time when Abraham’s and Lot’s flocks had grown so much that the land could no longer support them together. To avoid conflict, Abraham proposed that they separate and gave Lot the opportunity to choose first where he would go. Lot saw a place that, from a human perspective, seemed like the perfect choice. The plain was fertile, abundant, and promising. Everything pointed to prosperity. But Lot evaluated only what he could see. He observed the appearance of the land but ignored […]

Prayer: Running from religious fear

In the previous text, we talked a little about religious OCD and how it takes our focus away from what Christ truly expects from us. Today, I want to invite you to pray with me about this subject, so that we may feel free in the Father’s presence, seeking Him with love, gratitude, and true peace. You do not need to pray exactly as I will write here. Open your heart genuinely to God. But it will be a pleasure to accompany you in this moment of prayer and seeking. Prayer Father, I know that many times my mind is filled with fear, guilt, and thoughts that steal the peace of my faith. I know that You do not want me to live imprisoned by spiritual anxiety, constantly trying to earn a love that was already given to me on the cross. Teach me to rest in You and to remember that Your love is not sustained by my performance, but by Your infinite grace. When intrusive thoughts come, when the fear of condemnation tries to dominate my heart, and when I feel spiritually overwhelmed, help me remember Your truth. Your Word says that I was not given a spirit […]
