Supporting the Process

Supporting the Process

During the last weekend, I was talking about this with some friends. Our life is full of processes, many of them are difficult but necessary. The process can be defined by a desert you are going through. It can also be a period of waiting for a promise to be fulfilled. You can now be at any stage of a process. Maybe you’re at the beginning, starting to realize the difficulty of going through something; or else in the middle, already tired and not in the mood to continue; or at the end, where you start to look forward and see what you’ve been waiting for. It’s hard, but it’s worth it! One of my friends said a sentence that is still in my mind: “The process serves to generate testimony. It’s great to hear our brother’s testimony, but that’s not enough. We need to have ours too.” Is very difficult. In my not so long Christian walk, I could already see one thing: generating testimony hurts. There are many situations we face along our journey. Some are so difficult that we think we will not be able to bear it, but the Lord comforts us: “…You will have suffering […]

Know your why

Know your why

I’m sure you’ve already wondered about your purpose in life, your mission, why you are where you are. I’ve wondered about this myself many times! After the conversion of my family, when I was 10 years old, I grew up seeing leaders, pastors that I love until today, exhaling their wisdom, teaching and showing the Glory of God through their lives. I confess that I often wanted to be like most of them. However, I need to discern what the Lord wants for my life in particular. As much as someone’s ministry is amazing and admirable, God may have something totally different for me. My purpose is not the same as yours I still remember my first supernatural experience with God. I must have been 11 years old and they decided to play a song during EBD. I closed my eyes listening to the song and said, “God, I don’t want anything but You. Come live in my heart”. When I realized it, I was sobbing from crying, feeling all the Father’s love enveloping me. After this experience, I went through a process of a few years until I understood that the purpose of the other is different from mine. […]

It’s not you

It’s not you

These times I heard a song that had the following phrase “And if my voice fails, You sing for me”. That single sentence, repeated only once, in a song lasting almost 7 minutes spoke to me a lot. Then I found out that the singer had gone through a surgery on her vocal cords and, even after the surgery, she would be unable to sing. During that time she wrote this song and added this line to the lyrics. Today she is fine and is singing again. It was a miracle from God in her life. Still, it wasn’t her story that spoke to me, but the snippet of the song. If you fail, do you continue? Think about what you do. Do you preach? Play? Sing? Teach? If something happens and you can’t do it anymore, what will it be like? What really motivates you to keep going? That’s exactly what God spoke to me. In my church I work in communication, recording, editing and writing, just like I do here on Bible Offline team. And the Lord asked me why I keep doing these things and that got me thinking. I write, record, edit, take pictures, but simply […]

Attracted by the Presence

Attracted by the Presence

I wasn’t born in a Christian home, quite the contrary. Whenever I tell our testimony, I like to say that we didn’t meet Jesus, He found us, or rather, He attracted us to Himself. So many times we have the feeling that we are going after Him, but the truth is that it is very difficult for you to look at a church, a bible or whatever it is and say “I found Jesus”. He finds us, he attracts us and when we realize it, we can say “I found what I needed”, not because we looked for it, but because He called us. Moses and the Burning Bush “Meanwhile, Moses was shepherding the flock of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian. He led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. Then the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire within a bush. As Moses looked, he saw that the bush was on fire but was not consumed.” – Exodus 3:1-2 What was going on in this situation? Well, the title my bible gives to this text is “God Speaks to Moses” which if […]

How to know God?

How to know God?

Do you know what a house of prayer is for? Do we need to “consecrate” a space as a place of prayer? I wanted to bring some thoughts about the text of Isaiah 56: “For my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations”. Go to him “If you seek Him, He will be found by you, but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you”. 2 Chronicles 15:2 The Father’s house was not called the house of “preaching” or “mysteries”, such as miracles and prophecies, but of “prayer”. Pointing directly to a relationship with God and the way worship should be performed. Several times I come here to talk about one of our actions. That’s because a lot is heard about what He does and we already know His promises, but it’s important to remember daily what needs to come from us. Knowing God through preaching and miracles takes away our action to build a relationship with Him. Receiving is easy, watching God speaking and doing is easy. But being willing to seek Him requires a step on our part. Listen and do “My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you”. Job […]

When is the right time to pray?

When is the right time to pray?

When is the right time to act? To what extent is risk taking the right decision? How long should we wait for something? With each passing day, the answer to these questions becomes clearer to me. The answer is always Jesus. Who knows more “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you”. James 1:5 A while ago my car started making an unusual noise. Instead of consulting a mechanic right away to find out what that noise was and what to do, I postponed it for a few long days. The noise was coming from the damper. If I had changed it when it was defective, I would have had to change it alone. But as several days passed, the bad shock absorber ended up overloading the other 3, so I had to change them all. Conclusion: I spent more, I needed to spend more days without a car and I almost had problems with other parts of the car. If I had changed it too soon I would have thrown a still good shock in the trash and had unnecessary work. So who […]

Prayer for the weary and burdened

The year is starting, but we came from a very troubled year for many people. It’s common to feel tired and overwhelmed, even if 2023 is just beginning. In Matthew 11:28-29, Jesus says: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am meek and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 11:28-29 May we cling to Jesus and learn from Him to be meek and humble. Today, I invite you to pray for your neighbor and maybe for yourself so that God will bring you rest, remembering that you don’t need to pray the same way I will leave it here. After all, everyone has their own way of talking to our God. Prayer Lord, my God and Father, we thank You for another breath of life that You have given us. It was through Your grace that we came this far. Holy Spirit, we cry out to You to bring relief and comfort to our hearts. Bring peace and rest into our lives. That rest that can only come from above. Father, we ask for […]

Prayer for the New Year

2022 was quite a year! So many things happened: elections here in Brazil, the World Cup, among other international events, not to mention what happened in our personal lives. We can say that we only got this far because the Lord kept us. Taking that into account, I believe it’s important to pray for this year that is starting too. May 2023 be a year of blessings and joy in the presence of God. Today I invite you to pray and intercede for the new year, remembering that you don’t have to pray the same way I will leave it here. After all, everyone has their own way of talking to our God. Prayer “Lord my God and Father, We thank you for this day and for another year that You Lord is giving us. Thank you also for Your faithfulness and love. Thank you for taking care of us this past year. Despite adversity and difficulties, we know that You were always present and never abandoned us. Father, we ask you for this year that is beginning. May days of joy come! May we learn to find joy in living Your purposes and Your will. May we love our […]

Prayer for consolation

How many times have you lost someone? Whether it’s a matter of life and death, or someone you loved has moved away? Anyway, there are several concepts to lose someone. Perhaps one of the greatest pains we will experience in this life is to see someone we love leave. I do not say lose, for we know that those who serve the Lord are saved and will find themselves in paradise, but it is a departure from earthly life for eternal life. Prayer against anxiety

If you have been suffering from anxiety, stress and have been held hostage by worries, I invite you to pray with me right now. Declare the truths of God’s Word about your life. Take hold of all the blessings that have already been released through the work of Christ! Remembering that you don’t need to repeat the prayer exactly as I’m going to leave it here, because each of us has a specific way of communicating with the Lord. But if you want to accompany me, it will be a pleasure. Feel free to speak your own way. PRAYER Dear Father, I want to start this prayer by thanking you for all the provision and care for my life. Thank you because in You we can be sure that we are loved. Thank you also that we can enter and remain in Your presence. In You we can dwell in a safe place. I pray that the Lord will help us find the peace that passes all understanding. May Your calm enfold our hearts right now. We cast all anxiety, worry, and distraction upon You. We wish to focus on the blessings of Your inheritance. We trust in Your good […]

God is always enough!

God is always enough!

IT’S REAL: Regardless of the situation you’ve been living, know that God is enough! Life is made up of many seasons. There are moments of great changes, in which cycles end, some people distance themselves not out of harm or anything, but because life has changed. There are times when we are waiting too long for something and it doesn’t happen. There are people who really want to get married, find a mate or a companion. There are people who have some professional or ministerial dream that has not yet come true. There are people who are hoping to have a child, but they can’t. And often in these seasons we can feel incomplete. When we close a cycle, we lose something or someone, we can feel incomplete. Or sometimes we are waiting for something so we feel complete. But I want to tell you that even in these situations you are COMPLETE in Jesus! He is the fountain of living water and the bread of life “Jesus answered and said to her, `Every one who is drinking of this water shall thirst again; but whoever may drink of the water that I will give him, may not thirst — […]

Prayer for Children

In October we celebrate Children’s Day here in Brazil. Our little ones have been targets of attacks from the evil one. After all, if he wants to unbalance the Church, why not go straight to the source? If he attacks children today, he mainly affects the future and the next generations. The Bible says: “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” Proverbs 22:6 We must invest time teaching children the Eternal Way, but also intercede for their lives, crying out that the Lord will take care and protect them from all the evil that has plagued this world. Today, I invite you to intercede with me for the lives of our little ones, remembering that you don’t need to repeat the prayer exactly as it is here. After all, everyone has their own way of talking to God, but if you want, I’ll be happy to accompany you. Prayer “Lord, our God and Father, we thank You for Your love for our lives. Father, this world is so evil and the forces of darkness have been working to get our children out of Your way. We […]

Prayer: return to your First Love
·Ana Julia Luiz

Prayer: return to your First Love

There is a term widely used to define those people who have just started to walk their path in faith: “First Love”. The use of this term is due to the fact that these people are extremely excited and euphoric about all this, in a gigantic level of passion for Jesus. We talk so much about these people and say things like, “wow, it’s so beautiful when we’re in first love”. But we forget that our life with God shouldn’t change after a while. It turns out that the more “time as Christians” we have, the more we limit our passion for Jesus. We have lost the enthusiasm of “wanting to preach even to a pole” and we are limiting ourselves to living only in that small space that we find to love Jesus, but not do absolutely everything for Him. We have to return to our first love and cry out to the Father to help us to be extremely in love with Him again. Remembering that you don’t need to repeat the prayer exactly as I’m going to leave it here, because each of us has a specific way of communicating with the Lord. But if you want […]

A Prayer for Rest

How many times have you closed your eyes tightly, breathing deeply and crying out for the Father? Maybe because you couldn’t take it anymore or maybe because you were already one step away from giving up. The Lord says there in Matthew 11:28, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” The Lord wants to give you rest, but the first step is yours: draw close to Him, trust the Father. Let’s pray for this rest and surrender to God everything we need. Remembering that you don’t have to repeat the prayer exactly as I’m going to leave it here, because each of us has a specific way of communicating with the Lord. But if you want to accompany me, it will be a pleasure. Feel free to speak your own way. Prayer “Lord my God and Father, we thank you for this breath of life that you have given us today. Father, on this day, we want to give you all the worry, fatigue, sadness and anguish that have taken over our hearts. We ask that you take care of these things, over which we have no power. Prayer: Be still my soul

“Be still my soul”. This has been a prayer that we have been crying out more every day. We need our soul to be quiet, hear the voice of the Father, take a deep breath and feel the peace that exceeds all understanding. However, many times we don’t talk to the Father about it, we suffer alone, we feel that grip in the heart, that restlessness in the soul and we don’t even think about crying out to the Lord, but today, pray with me, cry for the peace of the Lord in your life. Remembering that you don’t need to repeat the prayer exactly as I’m going to leave it here, because each of us has a specific way of communicating with the Lord. But if you want to accompany me, it will be a pleasure. Feel free to speak your own way. Prayer “Lord our God and Father, we thank you for this breath of life that you have given us. Father, we have felt so much restlessness in our souls and so many times we have allowed ourselves to go through this alone, without crying out to You. But on this day, we take a step further, […]

Everything for the Glory of God

“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31 Our days are usually pretty full. We do thousands of tasks. We work, study, exercise, among many other activities. It happens that we often treat certain tasks, because they are not ministerial, as if they are unimportant and as if we don’t need to dedicate ourselves to them in the same way as we serve in our ministries. It is about everything we do From eating, to getting up or eating, we must do EVERYTHING for the Glory of God. It’s not an easy task, in fact, it’s a change of thinking about life that implies new habits. In praying before something, or thinking “I’m not doing this for myself, nor for people, but for the Lord”. It is about doing everything with excellence, as for the Lord and with love, so that we can manifest the Glory of God through each attitude, each smile or function performed, whether at work, when relating to our families or in our daily routines. I wanted to invite you to pray with me right now, asking that, through each of our attitudes, we […]

Prayer: Where will I go?

Sometimes we feel in our lives that we don’t have anywhere to go or we don’t know what to do regarding ministerial, professional, family and personal issues. Probably in the face of some important decision, you spent a few days reflecting on one of these questions: What is my vocation? What do I have to do in relation to my work? How should I proceed with college? Should I end my relationship? Not finding the answer easily makes us feel lost. It is at times like these that we can and should turn to God to ask Him to bring clarity to our thoughts and decisions. May we consecrate to Him everything we feel, think, plan and do. Remembering that you don’t need to repeat the prayer exactly as I’m going to leave it here, because each of us has a specific way of communicating with the Lord. But if you want to accompany me, it will be a pleasure. Feel free to speak your own way. Prayer “Lord my God and Father, we thank you for this day and for another breath of life you have given us. Prayer for peace

During this time that we have lived, it has been difficult to feel peace. There are so many wars, fights among other circumstances that have caused us anguish and afflictions. Of course, we cannot hide from these situations, after all, the Lord told us that we would go through difficult times, but He also advises us in His Word to take heart (John 16:33). Through Philippians 4:7, we can believe that in Jesus we receive the peace that transcends all understanding. In Romans 5:1, the apostle Paul says that, being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. So, on this day I invite you to pray with me for that peace that is promised in the Holy Scriptures. Remembering that you don’t have to repeat the prayer exactly as I’m going to leave it here, because each of us has a specific way of communicating with the Lord. But if you want to accompany me, it will be a pleasure. Feel free to speak your own way. Prayer for wisdom

Wisdom is about looking through God’s eyes and acting as such. This is a gift that we should all have. We understand its importance when we search the Scriptures and see that Solomon asked for it in his life. On that day, I invite you, as King Solomon did, to ask God for wisdom. Remembering that you don’t need to repeat the prayer exactly as I’m going to leave it here, because each of us has a specific way of communicating with the Lord. But if you want to accompany me, it will be my pleasure. Feel free to speak your own way. Prayer “Lord my God and Father, we thank you for this day, for another breath of life that you have given us. Father, on this day we ask You to give us wisdom to act in accordance with Your will and what You would do. During our days, we have to deal with many situations and make many decisions that we don’t know how to proceed, but we ask You Lord to give us wisdom so that we can live according to Your will every day. Holy Spirit, You are welcome into our lives to help us […]

Prayer for Missions

The Lord was very clear to us when He told us in Matthew 28:19: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” Matthew 28:19 This commandment is for everyone, but not everyone has the call to evangelism as the apostle Paul speaks of in Ephesians 4:11. On this day I invite you to pray together with me, for those who have this mission: to preach the Gospel throughout the world. Remembering that you don’t need to repeat the prayer exactly as I’m going to leave it here, because each of us has a specific way of communicating with the Lord. But if you want to accompany me, it will be my pleasure. Feel free to speak your own way. Prayer for forgiveness

Every relationship has a risk, as the people who go through our lives can hurt us or generate some kind of mark on our hearts. Just as we too will surely fail someone at some point. Glad there is forgiveness and reconciliation. However, we often find it difficult to forgive and we carry resentments with us. But today the Lord invites you to change that situation. Let’s pray together in this regard! Remembering that you don’t have to repeat the prayer exactly as I’m going to leave it here, because each of us has a specific way of communicating with the Lord. But if you want to accompany me, it will be a pleasure. Feel free to speak your own way. Prayer “Lord, our God and Father, we thank you for another day of life, for another opportunity to live in Your presence. We’d like to start by asking forgiveness for our sins, for the things we do every day that don’t please You. For our flaws that sometimes we are not even able to see. Intimacy with God

We have lived such a busy life that it seems that we never find time to be intimate with God. Our schedule is always crammed with tasks and our lives are filled with activism. All of this has been keeping us from time with the Lord. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5 Jesus calls us to be united with Him, as a branch is to its trunk. So I would like to pray with you to have intimacy with the Father and be united with Him. Remembering that you don’t need to repeat the prayer exactly as I’m going to write it here, because each of us has a specific way of communicating with the Lord. But if you want to accompany me, it will be a pleasure. Feel free to speak your own way. Psalm 94 for the anxious heart

When I said, “My foot is slipping,” your unfailing love, Lord, supported me. When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy. – Psalm 94:18-19 Meditate on these words for a moment. So many times we fight in our own strength and rely on our own feet to support us when they may slip. Yet the goodness of the Lord is what really sustains us. You were not abandoned to get lost in your own thoughts. The Lord can help you and comfort you. When you are confused, He can clear your mind and guide you along the eternal path. If you’ve been feeling lonely and lost, know that He can put you back on track and make you walk towards the purposes He has for you. You can trust the Lord and rest in Him. There is true peace in the heart as we know that the Father’s love never fails and that He never leaves us. He holds us for every step we need to take along the way. We can rest in the presence of the Lord, who embraces us and releases us emotionally from any prison. Be free from anxiety, insomnia, depression and fear […]
