What is greater than God?

What is greater than God?

Have you heard of Billy Graham? He was a pastor who was at the forefront of revivalist movements that took place around the world. He was a channel for approximately 2.5 million people to convert.

This wise man, who lived the Word of God so intensely, said a sentence that really caught my attention. I always try to remember it when I’m having a hard time.

“Anxiety is the natural result when our hopes are centered in anything short of God and His will for us.”

Billy Graham

Change of Measure

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding”

Proverbs 3:5

When our expectations and faith are focused on things other than God, it is normal for us to be exposed to fear, anxiety, hopelessness, and thoughts of giving up.

Understanding that the greatest strength man can achieve would still be weakness before God, is also understanding how He is greater than everything and how we are nothing. If we are so small and fragile close to the Lord, our thoughts and feelings are also smaller than His and that’s why we can trust completely in this love and care from heaven.

Just as we see in 1 Corinthians 1:25:

“For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.”

Everything we have as a parameter in this world that makes us understand height, depth, size… everything fits in the hands of the Father.

Underfoot

The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of gold, as pure as transparent glass.

Revelation 21:21

This passage from Revelation 21 is not meant to give you a feeling of ostentation or pride. The idea of this passage is to show that gold, close to God and His kingdom, loses so much value that, having no use at all, it exists only to be stepped on.

What is supernatural for us here, will be natural there. What once meant wealth here in the world, in the Lord’s presence becomes just parts of a door or the material of a floor.

See that this passage shows you that the glory of heaven is not gold, the glory of heaven is not based on riches that we can measure. The glory of heaven is God. And in the face of this glory, everything else loses the importance that had before.

Nothing above Him

“You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.”

1 John 4:4

When your dependence is only on God, when you understand that you live only for Him , the thought is: “If He said He’s going to do it, He’s going to do it and I don’t need to be running to speed it up what He promised“.

A God who has everything that exists under his feet could give you less than you dream? His will is better than ours.

Remember that the highest your mind can reach is still the simplest beginning of the Lord’s thought. With our smallness, when we reach the maximum of our imagination we are still dreaming low, because, without realizing it, the limits of the environment we are in stop us from going further in thought.

But nothing limits the Lord, nothing stops Him, because everything is smaller than Him. For this reason, we often arrive at places where we think “How did I get here? It has to be God“. Yeah… it was Him! Without Him you would only get as far as your mind can reach.

Then trust this God. Because if nothing is greater than Him, no other work will be greater than His!!

What have I done for God?

What have I done for God?

We go through some afflictions in our lives. We are human and it is normal that not everything is perfect. Even if your neighbor’s grass looks greener, it isn’t. We all go through difficulties. Highs and lows “For hardship does not spring from the soil, nor does trouble sprout from the ground. Yet man is born to trouble as surely as sparks fly upward. “But if I were you, I would appeal to God. I would lay my cause before him.” Job 5:6-8 There are times when difficulties are minor and quickly resolved without headaches. There were times when my family and I were at the best of our lives, spiritually as well as emotionally and financially. Soon after, everything seemed to fall apart. It felt like we were being forcibly pulled out of that quieter moment. And then came the difficulties. In difficult times, if we don’t focus on God, we may lose a few nights of sleep. In those moments we always questioned ourselves with the title question: “What have I done for God?“. Do not hinder photosynthesis You have done nothing for God, for He does not change according to our works, whether they are good or bad. In […]

Do you understand Agape Love?

Do you understand Agape Love?

I’ve come here a few times to talk about how the word of God generates real changes in our hearts. These changes start within us and, without forcing it, spill over onto other people. Thus, we become channels of blessings in the lives of others. For we have been blessed to bless. Was born of him “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:34-35 I want to start by talking about the importance of focusing on blessing, not receiving blessings. “But why should I love?”. Simple, because He loved you first. Whoever is born of love is love. A bird does not give birth to a cat. If we are children of God, we are also filled with love, for we are children of Love. I know that sometimes we can’t connect with certain people because they are very different from us in some points, so we end up being closer to others with whom we identify more. Just like some people might have the same feeling about us. And that’s okay. But […]

Prayer: Change the hearts

Prayer: Change the hearts

“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. I will place my Spirit within you and cause you to follow my statutes and carefully observe my ordinances.” Ezekiel 36:26-27 We have lived in times when hearts have hardened. Recently I was in the intercession room before a service and a brother started to pray saying “Forgive the ‘nos’ that you Lord will hear today”. I immediately remembered the passage at the beginning of the text, and I would like to pray with you about it, so that the hearts of stone become hearts of flesh. Remembering that you don’t have to repeat the prayer exactly as I’m going to leave it here, because each of us has a specific way of communicating with the Lord. But if you want to accompany me, it will be a pleasure. Feel free to speak your own way. Prayer “Gracious God, we thank you for this day of life and the opportunity to be in Your presence. So many people have said “no” to You, have despised You. We cry out for a special […]
