The important things cannot be bought

The important things cannot be bought

Every year the chorus “Health to give and sell” is sung in Brazil, while partygoers imagine and wish each other a Happy New Year, with lots of money in their pockets and… health to give and sell.

This 2021 started with this chorus more current than ever … but with a new meaning: Many going after anyone who can give a vaccine, or willing to pay dearly for a life-saving treatment.

Health to give and sell has ceased to be the personal and disinterested desire of friends, to become a profitable business strand, where countries are not asking the price; citizens are wanting the state to give them health and companies in the health sector are selling expensive; from medicines to equipment, supplies and… vaccines.

After all, how much would you not pay for some physical, emotional (and political) tranquility in times like this?

As I thought about these facts, I remembered this well-known passage from Isaiah 55: 1-2, where God Himself is proclaiming:

“…and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.” And also: “Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy?”

The Bible is clear in saying that the most significant and important things in life cannot be bought with your money, because they are priceless. They’re free!

And the Good News of the word is in Luke 5: 31-32 “Those who are healthy do not need doctors, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repent ”

Jesus did not come to improve the lives of those who are after more prosperity on earth with the help of the heavens… He came to save those who consider themselves lost and to heal those who know they are sick!

If you know someone in this situation, share this good news of the Gospel.

After all, is there anything more just than calling sinners to repentance?

We graduated from the Google Play Apps Accelerator 2026

We believe that technology and faith can walk hand in hand. This conviction has driven us since the very first day of the JFA Bible, and over the past few months it has led us to experience one of the most remarkable chapters in our history: we graduated with our new Bible AI app as part of the first global cohort of the Google Play Apps Accelerator 2026. We want to share with you not only the outcome, but also the behind-the-scenes journey of everything that happened. The invitation that changed our year At the end of 2025, Google launched the first edition of the Google Play Apps Accelerator, a pioneering global program that selected only 38 high-potential apps from around the world. Among them, only two were Brazilian, and Bible AI was one of them. We received the news with a mix of joy and gratitude. 12 weeks of the program During twelve intensive weeks, we immersed ourselves in masterclasses led by leaders in the global tech industry, one-on-one mentoring sessions covering everything from technical scalability to leadership, and exclusive conversations with experts from Google and some of the world’s largest technology companies. Every session helped us think bigger, […]

Prayer: Running from religious fear

In the previous text, we talked a little about religious OCD and how it takes our focus away from what Christ truly expects from us. Today, I want to invite you to pray with me about this subject, so that we may feel free in the Father’s presence, seeking Him with love, gratitude, and true peace. You do not need to pray exactly as I will write here. Open your heart genuinely to God. But it will be a pleasure to accompany you in this moment of prayer and seeking. Prayer Father, I know that many times my mind is filled with fear, guilt, and thoughts that steal the peace of my faith. I know that You do not want me to live imprisoned by spiritual anxiety, constantly trying to earn a love that was already given to me on the cross. Teach me to rest in You and to remember that Your love is not sustained by my performance, but by Your infinite grace. When intrusive thoughts come, when the fear of condemnation tries to dominate my heart, and when I feel spiritually overwhelmed, help me remember Your truth. Your Word says that I was not given a spirit […]
