It’s been a while since we’ve had a prayer moment around here, hasn’t it?
Prayer is an opportunity to show our feelings to God and for God.
We can use these moments to surrender our worship to Him, to learn in practice to trust, rest and say with our mouths how we want Him in every detail of our lives.
I don’t want to bring a specific topic to pray together today, but I want to use this space to pray for His work in our lives.
Feel free to pray in your own words as you present your needs and requests before the Lord. Or if you prefer you can accompany me. It will be a pleasure to have this moment together.
PRAYER
Lord, at this moment we cry out for Your complete act in our lives.
We are human and constantly have a need to grab control. The feeling that everything is going according to our wishes and that our lives are going as planned gives us the false feeling that everything is going well. But with our failing hands everything can fall apart at any moment.
Remind us at all times how we need to let go of the rope and how we need to pour everything out at Your feet.
Under Your command, even if it doesn’t make sense to us at first, we know that things are permanent and grounded.
Lord, put faith and trust in our hearts. May we close our eyes and just follow Your voice, knowing it leads us to a safe place filled with Your peace and Your love.
Let nothing make sense to us if it doesn’t have your presence. Teach us to have the Lord as our starting point and goal, as our complete way, truth and life.
Just as Peter says in the text of John 6: To whom shall we go? The words that give us eternal life, that give us direction and give us our real essence can only come from you, Lord. We want to stop looking for fulfillment in other places and things that soon go away. May the source of our lives be You and Your words.
Be by our side in all decisions. May every step we take be by Your side, following Your voice no matter how difficult what we need to leave behind. Your will is always good, perfect and pleasant.
Bless our lives and give us strength to carry on.
In Jesus name, Amen!
