Friends that are like brothers

Friends that are like brothers

During 2022 and early 2023 I have experienced what in the Bible is called “friend who sticks closer than a brother” in Proverbs 18:24.

And I had never understood exactly what that was like. I mean, are these friends really closer than my brother? How do I find a friend like that? There were always questions that hovered in my head.

In the last two years I started to understand better.

How is a friend closer than a sibling?

Do you know that friend you can just count on for everything? That’s the kind of friend that is like a brother. A friend who is there to listen, advise, help in moments of anguish, but I believe that mainly, the one who takes you closer to Jesus.

I found friends who truly pray for me, just as I pray for them. This is not just any friendship. It was in a service when we took each other’s hands, formed a circle and started to pray, that I began to see how healthy and wonderful it was to be with them.

If you’ve already met a friend or a few friends of this type, maybe when it happened you weren’t even expecting such a friendship. But surely the Lord sent this or these people with special purposes. Friends are gifts from God, especially those who remain in victory and defeat, in falling and rising, helping us to see the presence of the Father.

“A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a difficult time.”

Proverbs 17:17

Take time to thank the Lord for these friends. Pray too that you can be a person who loves and take others closer to Jesus. If you have been feeling alone on the journey, pray that the Lord will bring people together who can make a difference in your life. There is something precious and special that God wants to bestow on you through other people. May you make a difference in someone’s life too.

God bless,
Ana.

Prayer: On our knees to reach

God, I thank You for the freedom I have to know Your Word, to open the Scriptures, to hear about You, and to share the Gospel. I know that I often treat this privilege as something common, but today I want to recognize how precious it is. Lead me to places where Your Word encounters closed doors. May I not remain indifferent in the face of barriers that try to prevent Your Word from acting.

We graduated from the Google Play Apps Accelerator 2026

We believe that technology and faith can walk hand in hand. This conviction has driven us since the very first day of the JFA Bible, and over the past few months it has led us to experience one of the most remarkable chapters in our history: we graduated with our new Bible AI app as part of the first global cohort of the Google Play Apps Accelerator 2026. We want to share with you not only the outcome, but also the behind-the-scenes journey of everything that happened. The invitation that changed our year At the end of 2025, Google launched the first edition of the Google Play Apps Accelerator, a pioneering global program that selected only 38 high-potential apps from around the world. Among them, only two were Brazilian, and Bible AI was one of them. We received the news with a mix of joy and gratitude. 12 weeks of the program During twelve intensive weeks, we immersed ourselves in masterclasses led by leaders in the global tech industry, one-on-one mentoring sessions covering everything from technical scalability to leadership, and exclusive conversations with experts from Google and some of the world’s largest technology companies. Every session helped us think bigger, […]
