The joy that comes from God

God is happy with your joy. Many times when we think of the Lord, we immediately think of the words of seriousness, fear and justice, in fact all this represents Him, but joy too!

Being in the presence of God means being happy. Think with me, have you ever been sad when praising the Lord and meditating on His word? We may even be saddened by the situations we are experiencing, but in that precious moment our heart finds comfort.

Where do you look for joy?

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4: 4-7

We live a decade where at all times we are bombarded, whether on television, on our smartphones or computers. Everywhere somebody is trying to sell us something: a product, an idea and even a lifestyle.

These things are presented to us as if they were the solution to our unhappiness, but in fact they can lead us to even a greater sadness. Fortunately, when we search for happiness in the right source – in God – we are completely satisfied, we find a stable and not a momentary joy.

The joy of the Lord is our strength

Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.

Nehemiah 8:10

I understand this verse as follows: when we walk according to the will of God, we are strengthened by the joy of Him with our conduct and then we receive from Him a new strength to face whatever the adversity.

When we seek happiness in the things of the Lord, we feel a complete satisfaction, our hearts overflow with love, we speak words of blessing and joy shows on our faces, as it is written in Proverbs 15:13.

Joy comes in the morning

Weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.

Psalms 30:5

We go through adversity in our lives and it’s okay to cry, but we can’t forget that God has the solution and that He allows us to face some situations. Often we may not understand “why”, but the Lord knows “for what”.

Even Jesus was already saddened, in Matthew 26: 38-39 it is written: “Then he said to them, ‘My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me’.Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, ‘My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will’”.

It was not easy for Christ to face the cross, but he knew that pain would be necessary to fulfill the Father’s will. It may be that you are going through a difficult time in your life, but rest assured that God has not forgotten you, for He loves you and is taking care of every situation.

In conclusion …

God wants to do great things in your life, have no doubt about it, seek joy in Him and in everything that comes from Him, because however difficult the moment for every situation is, there is a purpose. Believe me, great things are to come!

God bless you!

Prayer: The full joy of presence

Prayer: The full joy of presence

Father, I thank You because Your joy does not depend on my circumstances, nor on the places, achievements, or failures of this world. Even when my heart feels heavy or when situations change, You remain unchanging, and Your joy is available to me—not by merit, but by Your grace and mercy poured out over my life. May my joy be rooted in You and in You alone. Lord, help me understand that true joy is not a passing feeling, but the fruit of Your presence, and I want to live seeking that presence. Even when my feelings change and emotions fluctuate, keep my faith in You unshaken, for You are the source of joy that never runs dry. Renew in me the joy that comes from communion with You and from recognizing that You are greater than any situation. I ask that You fill me with this joy every day, even in the midst of difficulties. May I experience the contentment that is born from trusting You, knowing that You are with me in every step of the journey. May the joy I receive from You also be strength for my days, encouragement for my walk, and a testimony of […]

Good News is better when we don’t expect it!

Good News is better when we don’t expect it!

Like cold water to a weary soul, is good news from a distant land. Proverbs 25:25 We are all thirsty for good news, especially when we await the result of a medical exam, a test, or a decision to hire a new job, but all of this is expected good news! In Proverbs 25, Solomon tells us about the effect of unexpected news, which arrives without warning and surprises us positively. The unexpected news is usually negative, but what is written is that the positive news shivers the soul, like cold water for those who are thirsty. And it is interesting to note that the effect (quenching thirst with ice water) is fully expected. Whoever takes a sip in the water expects to feel this relief. Which leads us to think that, deep down, we all hope to receive good news, even without knowing why or when. We always hope that next year will be better, that things will work out in the future, that everything will work out in the end. We simply don’t know why, but the Bible says that our souls are thirsty for God (Psalm 63: 1) and that, like the doe that craves water, our […]

Just be yourself!

Just be yourself!

Have we done things to please others? Where’s our treasure? Have we sought the approval of men and women instead of the Lord’s approval? God has spoken a lot to my heart about it and has shown me how I must seek only to please Him and no one else. We constantly do things to please other people and I would like to talk a little about this topic. Come on? God reveals our identity I have been thinking a lot and learning a lot about character, about who I am and how I should act. In this adventure of getting to know myself better, I realize more and more that I can only clearly understand who I am, when I know my Father more and more. It is no use wanting to discover, for myself, who I am, since I don’t even know what I need and don’t I was the one who grew up. I have a Creator who knows me, knows all my yearnings, all my struggles and knows more about me than I do myself. “Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness,” Genesis 1:26 Knowing that we are made in […]
