Prayer: Throwing out anxiety
Do you usually feel anxious? Well, I sometimes feel that way, I don’t have clinical anxiety, but not always a person “is” anxious, sometimes they find themselves in this condition in front of important decisions or something that is waiting for a certain time to happen.
Last night I was a little anxious what impacted my sleep. I couldn’t sleep properly, I woke up countless times, had nightmares and finally it was as if I hadn’t slept. I wasn’t worried, but I knew that the next day great events were coming.
The Bible teaches us that we should not look forward to the day of tomorrow, this is because it belongs to God, but we as failed human beings do not always remember this, so today I invite you to pray throwing away all anxiety.
I would also like to remind you that if you feel this way constantly, it is important to seek help, God left health professionals to help us and gave them skill and knowledge.
I leave here a passage especially for you today:
So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Matthew 6:31-34
Remembering that you don’t have to repeat the prayer exactly as I’m going to leave it here, because each one of us has a specific way to communicate with the Lord. But if you want to accompany me, it will be a pleasure, feel free to speak your way.
Prayer
Dear God, I want to thank you for your love, care and protection. I am grateful because I know that I can cast my anxieties upon you and take care of every fear, anxiety and longing. So I can say thank you because you take care of me when I don’t understand. Your faithfulness surprises me every day, so I praise You, for whom You are.
Father, in some moments I feel anxious for what is to come, for the tasks I have to accomplish and so many other factors. This gets in the way of my sleep, my decisions and so many things in my daily life, but I don’t want to feel that way anymore, because I know that my life is in your hands.
I ask your forgiveness, my God, if this feeling occurs due to lack of faith and I ask you to help me grow in faith. Lord, I want to please You with my choices, so I also pray to You, asking You to give me discernment to understand if I need to seek some help. I know I am a failure and I ask forgiveness for my sins.
I pray to You that my nights of sleep may be peaceful. Please, Father, protect me from any evil and attack from the enemy. May thoughts of peace and tranquility always be in my mind. It is in Jesus’ name that I pray, give thanks, and ask that my words may reach the Lord like a sweet perfume!
