Prayer: Returning to the arms of the Father

We are called to be children, but how often by our pride, arrogance and sinful nature, we decide to go our own way, without asking the Father’s direction, trusting that we know what is best.  We turn away from God’s presence and at some point we realize that we are actually doing a tremendous amount of nonsense.

We are troubled in the depths of our soul, anguish beats, sadness and so many other bad feelings of restlessness. But you know what? God loves you, he never stopped loving you and is eager to welcome you with open arms again. So today I invite you to pray, asking forgiveness for all rebellion and renewing the covenant you once made like the Lord.

I leave here a passage especially for you today:

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:9

Remembering that you don’t have to repeat the prayer exactly as I will leave it here, because each of us has a specific way to communicate with the Lord. But if you want to accompany me, it will be a pleasure, feel free to speak your way.

Prayer

Dear God, I have walked away from You, in my rebellion I have not listened to You, I have made decisions on my own and today I come here to redeem myself in Your presence, because I know that I have sinned against the Lord. I have failed you who are so faithful, kind and merciful. Father, I am a repentant sinner who is willing to do differently.

I know that in You my faults are forgiven and my sins erased. I miss being in Your presence, my soul seems to scream desperately for You. My heart is bitter, full of sadness, anguish and so many bad feelings, but I don’t want it to be like this.

God knows, I want to go back to my place as a daughter, I recognize its greatness, that without You I am nothing and I pray for forgiveness. My Lord, I ask forgiveness for my foolishness, failures, words and attitudes that have displeased you. I ask for forgiveness and I recognize that without your help I am not capable of change. I ask you to probe my soul and my heart so that there is no harm in them.

I already thank you for your forgiveness and mercy. I love you very much, my Father, and in your presence I want to be, today I declare that there is no better place to be if not in your arms. My God, yours is the power, the glory and the honor forever. It is in Jesus’ name that I pray, give thanks, and ask that my words may reach the Lord like a sweet perfume!

Prayer of a mere servant of God

God bless you!

Prayer: He is here!

Lord, I acknowledge that there are pains I cannot explain and questions for which I may never find an answer. But, in the midst of everything I do not understand, I want to remember that I was not created to walk alone. Draw near to me and also to those around me. May Your presence be at the center of my relationships so that, even when life seems difficult, I may find in the fellowship of my brothers and sisters a place of welcome, care, and hope.

Prayer: Faith that is not ashamed

Father, I know that I, too, have often denied Jesus. Perhaps not with words, but with choices, attitudes, omissions, and moments when I was ashamed to demonstrate my faith. Forgive me when the fear of being rejected spoke louder than the desire to remain faithful to You. Give me courage not to hide Your name and to remember that it is a privilege to feel discomfort for choosing to follow Christ in a world that often rejects what comes from You.
