Prayer: Putting aside vanity!

Vanity is very present nowadays, you can open your Instagram and you will see people all over the place. As if life was a big “show” that should be exhibited for everyone, which generates even more vanity.

With this we see people thinking more about what others will think than what God thinks about their attitudes, but as it is written in Habakkuk 2:4: “The wicked is proud; his desires are not good; but the righteous shall live by his faithfulness.

With this in mind, today I want to pray for everyone who is reading this text, that all vanity and any evil way will not be in our hearts. I leave here some passages especially for you today:

Beauty is deceitful, and beauty is fleeting; but the woman who fears the Lord will be praised.

Proverbs 11:13

Write: “The wicked is proud; his desires are not good; but the righteous shall live by his faithfulness.

Habakkuk 2:4

I have found that all work and all achievement arise from the competition that exists between people. But that too is absurd, it is chasing after the wind.

Ecclesiastes 4:4

Remember that you don’t have to repeat the prayer exactly as I am going to leave it here, because each one of us has a specific way of communicating with the Lord. But if you want to accompany me, it will be a pleasure, feel free to speak it in your own way.

Prayer

Beloved God, I thank you for your mercy, for taking care of me at all times and for forgiving my faults. I know that I am not a perfect person, but I am seeking to improve every day and I know that this is only possible if I am at your feet, worshiping and serving you, seeking knowledge in your word and thus improving my conduct.

Father, forgive me for all the vanity in my heart, all the bad ways that I may not have realized I want to be someone whole in your eyes, I don’t want to live my life thinking about what others will think, but about what you think about me. I love you, God, I love you too much, but I fail so much, and I feel so bad about it.

But today I want to commit myself to be a better person, with a heart and mind free of vanity and any kind of evil. Cleanse from my heart, pride, anger, jealousy, envy and every evil that can have in Him. May the Holy Spirit guide me. My God, Yours is the power, the glory and the honor forever. It is in the name of Jesus that I pray, give thanks and ask that my words may reach the Lord like a sweet perfume!

Prayer of a mere servant of God

God bless you!

Prayer: Purify and restore

Father, today I stand before You, acknowledging my need for the presence of Your Holy Spirit. There are areas of my life that often resemble dry, weary, and barren land. There are times when my faith weakens, my heart becomes heavy, and my soul thirsts for the water that only You can offer. Therefore, I ask You: pour out Your showers of blessing upon me. May Your Spirit renew what is worn out, restore what is broken, and bring life where there is dryness. Just as You promised to pour water upon the thirsty land, I acknowledge my dependence on You. I do not want to seek satisfaction in the fleeting things of this world, but in the inexhaustible source of Your presence. Fill my heart with Your peace, strengthen my faith, and help me remain close to You at all times. May Your Spirit flow through my life like rivers of living water, bringing hope, direction, and renewal to every area that needs Your touch. Holy Spirit, fall upon me like a flood. Invade the places in my heart that I have not yet fully surrendered to the Lord. Wash away my worries, my fears, my insecurities, and everything […]
