I spoke last week about how our mercy is often selective and limited. Today, I want to pray with you about this, to be meek and have a heart filled with God’s love and grace. We need to express this care that the Father has for us, reflecting this to the people around us, being witnesses of God’s grace and mercy on earth. And God has His eyes and ears open to receive our prayer at all times.
Remembering that you don’t need to pray exactly as I’m going to say here. I know that everyone has their own way of communicating with the Father, and it is important that we seek this intimacy. Feel free to talk to the Lord in your way. But if you wish, I am here to accompany you in this prayer.
Prayer
“God, I want to be more like you. Knowing You transforms me every day, walking with the Lord renews me. I know how much I make mistakes. I am not worthy of Your love, but even so, the Lord continues to pour it into me abundantly. Your mercy accompanies me every day, and just as the Lord forgives and consoles me, I want to forgive and console the people that the Lord puts in my path.
You are the God of compassion and kindness, and through Jesus, we are taught and shaped in the way of mercy and gentleness. We want to be meek, kind, and servants. We want to give to others what we have already received in You, through Your word.
May we look beyond the faults and weaknesses of our brothers and reach out with compassion and love, just as Your hand is reached out to us in every situation. Teach our hearts to see as the Lord sees. We need Your mercy and grace, and we have already received it from the Lord before we even asked.
We want to overflow onto other people. Teach us, Lord, to be meek and humble of heart, following the example of Jesus, who came not to be served but to serve. May we learn from Him to put the needs of others above our own, to love without expecting anything in return, and to respond to evil with kindness and forgiveness.
May Your mercy flow through us even in small actions, to reach those who are in need. May we be instruments of healing and restoration, bringing hope and comfort to afflicted hearts.
Direct our hearts to overcome divisions and conflicts, building bridges of communion. Enable us to forgive those who offend us, to love our enemies, and to pray for those who persecute us, bringing unity and peace to every situation.
May Your mercy transform us into instruments of Your love in this world, witnessing Your grace and kindness to everyone we encounter. May we be lights that shine amidst the darkness, reflecting Your glory and love to all around us.
In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.”
