Prayer: God, restore my family!
Family was created by God and should be a place of safety and protection. But because of the sin that exists in the world many families live in a real war footing, where the parents do not respect each other, the children do not respect their parents and everyone lives in total disunity. This certainly does not please our Heavenly Father and today I want you to say the following prayer: God, restore my family!
Before, I leave here three passages of the Bible on family:
That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.
However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
Ephesians 5:33
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother” – which is the first commandment with a promise – “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.” Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
Ephesians 6: 1-4
Prayer
Dear God, first of all, I want to thank you for my family, thank you for the life of everyone who belongs to it. I know that I was not born in it by chance, but so that your will, which is perfect and pleasant, can be fulfilled. Despite this, there are often disagreements and fights in my family, I don’t want it to be that way, because I know that despite everything, we all love each other and want the best for each other.
I ask you to help me see where I may be going wrong with my family so that I can improve and promote peace around me. I also ask you to show each member of my home where they can improve so that it is a peaceful and united place. Forgive me if at any time I failed the people I love and hurt you. My greatest desire is to please you, but I know that I am flawed.
I pray that all strife in my family will be rebuked, because as it is written in Ephesian 6, our fight is not against the flesh, but against principalities and powers. So I rebuke, in the power of the name of Jesus, the actions of the enemy in my family and all the evil that can bring strife and division. Today, I ask You, my Heavenly Father, to restore my family, bring transformation to my home, act in our midst so that we have more respect, love, and unity.
Please Lord, touch the heart of each one of my family, bringing brokenness. I also pray for those in my house who do not know you or who refuse to see that only You are God, that they can recognize Your greatness and accept Jesus as their only Savior. It is in the name of Jesus that I pray and ask that my words reach the Lord like a sweet perfume!
