Prayer: Getting rid of childhood fears
The other day I wrote here about fears that we develop as children and sometimes accompany us into adulthood, be it the night, abandonment, need, sickness… Anyway, you are not guilty or to blame for this fear, but it is certainly horrible to live in fear and we have been called to freedom in Christ Jesus.
So today I want to pray with you, asking for deliverance from these fears that you have been carrying around since you were little. Here are some passages especially for you today:
I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Psalm 23:4
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
John 14:27
Remember that you don’t have to repeat the prayer exactly as I’m going to leave it here, because each one of us has a specific way of communicating with the Lord. But if you want to follow me, it will be a pleasure, feel free to speak it in your own way.
Prayer
Beloved God, I thank you because you are always by my side taking care of me, for as it is written in your word if I seek the Lord you will deliver me from all my fears.
I also thank you because your word is light for all darkness, it brings knowledge and revelation, enlightening my mind, thank you for the fears that I have already overcome and I already thank you for the ones that I know I will overcome in you.
Father, today I pray for the fears that I still need to overcome in the name of Jesus, I ask that You come into my heart and bring transformation in my innermost being. May Your hand touch every life experience that needs to be healed and transformed in my life. May I feel Your strong presence, truly and authentically in my life, may insecurity, fear, and psychic and emotional disturbances be taken away from me.
Today I place in Your hands the control of my life, I know that many fears are caused by wanting to be in control of all situations, but I know that the only one with real power to be in control of everything is You. Beloved Father, help me to overcome this/these fears (name the fears you need to overcome).
My God, yours is the power, the glory and the honor forever. It is in the name of Jesus that I pray, give thanks and ask that my words may reach the Lord like a sweet perfume!
