God is beside you!

God is beside you!

It is extremely important to understand that the Lord is on our side, regardless of the situation! Do not walk ahead if the Lord is not ahead of you!

I would like to bring a brief theme that touched my heart a lot! If you have also had a hard time understanding that the Lord is at your side or having a hard time staying in Christ, I think it’s important that we talk about it!

Come with us!

What happened?

During the past three weeks I confess that I was distant from God! I was trying to do things by my own strength, without letting God take over. Furthermore, I did most of them for myself and not to please and glorify God!

There came a moment that was sunk in myself. I didn’t understand what was going on, where I was supposed to go and what I was supposed to do! Why? Because I was trying to take everything in my hands and do more than I should, doing things that God showed me not to do and worst of all: I thought I was doing God’s will and doing things to please Him, when in fact, I was doing everything for myself.

Gradually the Lord started to open my eyes and show me where I was going and what I was doing! I was trying to deceive myself and dig a hole under my feet. Through people, praise, moments of prayer and reflection in the Word, the Lord showed me that it was not there that He wanted me! I heard His sweet and perfect voice telling me:

“Son, look at me again, come back to me! Stop running in a direction that I am not in. You need to understand that if you walk in a direction contrary to Mine, you will be lost. Alone you can do nothing, but when you truly give everything into my hands and let Me guide your heart, then you will be on the right path and you will feel true joy! “

This was essential and undoubtedly a moment that will remain in my mind forever!

The Lord is at our side!

“But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”

John 14:26

Jesus shows us that he will not only be at our side, but will teach us to obey to what He has commanded us! This is essential for us, because by our own strength, we will never be able to obey the Lord, because we do not have understanding, discernment and wisdom. All these things come from the Lord!

“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”

Revelation 3:20

He calls us and is waiting for us, just answer! If we want to live with the Lord, have the real pleasure and to have eternal life by His side, we need to say yes to His call! Open the door when He knocks, Answer when He calls! But what do all these things mean? What would it be like to open the door, say yes and answer His call?

He leads us to change and transformation!

“Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. 14 As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. 15 But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16 for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”.”

1 Peter 1: 13-16

All these things mean: be obedient, do everything according to God’s will and principles and in a way that pleases Him. Several times I tried to make up my sin, to look like I was not sinning, as for example: looking for a girlfriend since the Lord had already shown me that it was not time for this, but for disguise my mistake, look for a Christian woman. What is the use of looking for a Christian woman, if I was already walking in the wrong direction, against the will of God?

“I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.”

Revelation 3: 15-16

Unfortunately I have created a habit of lying to myself, to relieve my conscience of sin. Nonsense! The only way to get rid of sin is not to commit it and have a straight life with God! Looking at the cross of Christ, truly repenting my sins and giving my life into the hands of Christ! Walk with Him and live according to His commandments.

“Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”

James 4: 8

The Challenge remains:

I would like to leave a challenge for all of us this week! Let us pray for the sanctification of God’s peopleLet’s go together in this?

Grace and Peace!

Prayer: The full joy of presence

Prayer: The full joy of presence

Father, I thank You because Your joy does not depend on my circumstances, nor on the places, achievements, or failures of this world. Even when my heart feels heavy or when situations change, You remain unchanging, and Your joy is available to me—not by merit, but by Your grace and mercy poured out over my life. May my joy be rooted in You and in You alone. Lord, help me understand that true joy is not a passing feeling, but the fruit of Your presence, and I want to live seeking that presence. Even when my feelings change and emotions fluctuate, keep my faith in You unshaken, for You are the source of joy that never runs dry. Renew in me the joy that comes from communion with You and from recognizing that You are greater than any situation. I ask that You fill me with this joy every day, even in the midst of difficulties. May I experience the contentment that is born from trusting You, knowing that You are with me in every step of the journey. May the joy I receive from You also be strength for my days, encouragement for my walk, and a testimony of […]

Good News is better when we don’t expect it!

Good News is better when we don’t expect it!

Like cold water to a weary soul, is good news from a distant land. Proverbs 25:25 We are all thirsty for good news, especially when we await the result of a medical exam, a test, or a decision to hire a new job, but all of this is expected good news! In Proverbs 25, Solomon tells us about the effect of unexpected news, which arrives without warning and surprises us positively. The unexpected news is usually negative, but what is written is that the positive news shivers the soul, like cold water for those who are thirsty. And it is interesting to note that the effect (quenching thirst with ice water) is fully expected. Whoever takes a sip in the water expects to feel this relief. Which leads us to think that, deep down, we all hope to receive good news, even without knowing why or when. We always hope that next year will be better, that things will work out in the future, that everything will work out in the end. We simply don’t know why, but the Bible says that our souls are thirsty for God (Psalm 63: 1) and that, like the doe that craves water, our […]

The joy that comes from God

The joy that comes from God

God is happy with your joy. Many times when we think of the Lord, we immediately think of the words of seriousness, fear and justice, in fact all this represents Him, but joy too! Being in the presence of God means being happy. Think with me, have you ever been sad when praising the Lord and meditating on His word? We may even be saddened by the situations we are experiencing, but in that precious moment our heart finds comfort. Where do you look for joy? Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4: 4-7 We live a decade where at all times we are bombarded, whether on television, on our smartphones or computers. Everywhere somebody is trying to sell us something: a product, an idea and even a lifestyle. These things are presented to us as if they were the solution to our […]
