What to do with anxiety?
Since the beginning of this pandemic, it was clear that we have become increasingly anxious. Not only that, but we’ve also been developing disorders like toc, panic and so on. But what stands out most is anxiety.
The big question that remains is: what does God think about it? What does the Bible say about anxiety?
The Bible
When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy.
The Psalmist says that anxiety was great within him. I start to imagine what could be going on, maybe he was being stalked, or having trouble at home, maybe he had a fight with someone, maybe, maybe, maybe…
The possibilities of what was happening are infinite, but it is a fact that he was going through a moment of difficulty that caused him anxiety. However, he looked for solace and relief for his soul in only one: God.
God is the answer! He brings calm and relief to our minds and souls.
Remembering that: do not discard therapy, it is extremely necessary, after all, the Lord gave wisdom to these people to work with it, helping those who need it. He can use healthcare professionals to bless us.
The Rest
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28
The Lord calls you today to come to Him, where it will be possible to find rest. The days have been tiring and full, leaving us tired and anxious. We often feel the world on our shoulders. But today I invite you to pray with me about it.
Remembering that you don’t have to repeat the prayer exactly as I’m going to leave it here, because each of us has a specific way of communicating with the Lord. But if you want to accompany me, it will be a pleasure. Feel free to speak your own way.
“Lord my God and Father, I would like to start by thanking you for everything you have done, for being with us every day, for every day guiding us on Your path.
The days haven’t been easy, Father, I’ve been feeling every moment anxiety taking over my heart and making me suffer and cry for things that didn’t happen or are completely out of my control.
Father, bring peace to my heart, bring Your rest and help me to simply surrender control and everything I feel to You, help me to overcome these confused things and feelings that are in my heart, I ask you to replace this anxiety with Your peace .
It is in Jesus’ name we pray, amen!”
