A while ago I spoke to you about verse 12 of Psalm 92: “The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon“, explaining a little about the part of the Christian as the Cedar-of-Lebanon.
Today I want to focus on the part of us flourishing like Palm tree and explain a little more about it.
A vertical growth
Palm trees are mainly known for adapting a lot to environments and climates. They are very stable and grow to over 20m in height. Nothing prevents your vertical growth. Even if this tree is tied up, it continues to grow vertically.
In addition, she is very strong, supporting forces of nature and standing up in unbelievable situations. In 2005, for example, there was a tsunami in Indonesia. A woman survived clinging to a palm tree for 5 days! A natural disaster, which destroyed very strong buildings and structures, was not fierce enough to bring down a Palm Tree.
Strengthened in him
This is what God dreams for us and expresses in the text of Psalms: that we flourish like them, that we are unshakable and that we always focus on the truth of the heavens, growing upwards.
If you apply very light pressure to a stick, it won’t break, so it’s tough for that. But putting in a little more force, it snaps quickly. With that, they may even think: “but if you don’t want to break it, just keep it in a safe place, protecting it from pressure“. I agree, but between the two of us, he won’t get to places as interesting as a Palm Tree or a Cedar-of-Lebanon if he’s just in comfortable places to avoid breaking, right?
When God gives us His love and salvation, the Father’s dream is not for the child to be strong as a twig, because He didn’t create you to withstand just a light breeze and a padded place. The dome of a glass is not its place. He wants you to be strong, to face your fears, pain, insecurities. He wants your life to reach unimaginable places and your foundation to be a firm foundation for you, also serving as a refuge for other people, through Him as a structure.
impossible
Creation will never be greater than the Creator. Everything that seems impossible and too complicated, will never be intense enough to shake those who carry the strength of that same Creator. God has placed upon you this dream that you will flourish like an unshakable tree. You will have a more and more firm root like the Cedar of Lebanon, as you grow, like the Palm Tree, with your eyes focused on things above.
God has not planned little for you. I know that some situations seem too heavy to bear, but remember that you are not a stick. If the winds seem stronger it is because you have left the dome and are heading towards something greater.
The difficulties of the path fit in the palm of His hand, what is difficult is not impossible and is only here to strengthen you and prepare you to be ready to receive everything He has planned for you. You are a strong tree!
