The True Happiness

The True Happiness

Next Monday, I will complete a year in which I have firmly established myself in the ways of the Lord. Since then, I wanted to know him as intensely as possible. So I dedicated myself so much to having experiences with Him.

In a year, I think I’ve grown a lot more than I imagined. I made a daily routine of devotion to Christ. This has brought me innumerable truly amazing moments that have proved to me more and more the fidelity and greatness of the God I serve. In this intensity, I endeavored to serve at all times, and in all circumstances.

Slow down!

Trying to offer too much, at times I began to feel spiritually exhausted. Until I heard God telling my heart that I should have moments of deceleration. Moments when I saw the Holy Spirit using two totally different people at different times to say that God was trying to fill me. But through my actions I was closing my heart and not fully feeling the love of God.

From a few months to now, with God ministering daily to my heart the word “slow down”, I began to realize better that He gives us the earth to enjoy as we watch over it and we also establish the Kingdom.

Psa 115:16 The heavens are the heavens of the Lord, but the earth gave to the children of Adam.

If even the Lord, who is sovereign over all things, thought it was important to rest after all his work in creating the universe, why should I, a mere mortal, not do it?

Gen. 2.2 On the seventh day, God had finished the work He had determined; that day he rested from all the work he had done.

Enjoying!

I decided then (and I leave this as an incentive to all the brothers who have lived in the same intensity of servitude) enjoy what God gives us in our earthly life.

The average man seeks happiness and its meaning throughout life. In reading the Bible, however, we have this definition as very simple. To which sometimes, with so many things, we stop trying.

Ecc 8:15 Therefore I advise you to enjoy the best that life can provide, for under the sun there is nothing happier for the human being than simply eating, drinking, and rejoicing. This is the happiness that will help us to overcome the difficult days of work during all the life time that God gives us under the sun!

Solomon, in his full wisdom, said that simply eating, drinking, and rejoicing brings us happiness. And it is the happiness that enables us to endure the hard work we have in our day-to-day work as stewards of this land. Also in the priestly office, and in the mission to establish the Kingdom of God.

Have a good laugh, enjoy the food and the drink. Have a good coffee, feel the cool winter breeze on a Sunday afternoon and warm up in the sun. Make the most of the good companies that are offered to you. These things are gifts from the Lord, and as the Bible itself says, they are reflections of true happiness, which holds us steady in our walk of love.

Rejoice in the simple things of life and enjoy the gifts that God, as a loving father, gives us.

Pp 4: 4 Rejoice in the Lord always; and again I say to you, Rejoice!

Prayer: The full joy of presence

Prayer: The full joy of presence

Father, I thank You because Your joy does not depend on my circumstances, nor on the places, achievements, or failures of this world. Even when my heart feels heavy or when situations change, You remain unchanging, and Your joy is available to me—not by merit, but by Your grace and mercy poured out over my life. May my joy be rooted in You and in You alone. Lord, help me understand that true joy is not a passing feeling, but the fruit of Your presence, and I want to live seeking that presence. Even when my feelings change and emotions fluctuate, keep my faith in You unshaken, for You are the source of joy that never runs dry. Renew in me the joy that comes from communion with You and from recognizing that You are greater than any situation. I ask that You fill me with this joy every day, even in the midst of difficulties. May I experience the contentment that is born from trusting You, knowing that You are with me in every step of the journey. May the joy I receive from You also be strength for my days, encouragement for my walk, and a testimony of […]

Good News is better when we don’t expect it!

Good News is better when we don’t expect it!

Like cold water to a weary soul, is good news from a distant land. Proverbs 25:25 We are all thirsty for good news, especially when we await the result of a medical exam, a test, or a decision to hire a new job, but all of this is expected good news! In Proverbs 25, Solomon tells us about the effect of unexpected news, which arrives without warning and surprises us positively. The unexpected news is usually negative, but what is written is that the positive news shivers the soul, like cold water for those who are thirsty. And it is interesting to note that the effect (quenching thirst with ice water) is fully expected. Whoever takes a sip in the water expects to feel this relief. Which leads us to think that, deep down, we all hope to receive good news, even without knowing why or when. We always hope that next year will be better, that things will work out in the future, that everything will work out in the end. We simply don’t know why, but the Bible says that our souls are thirsty for God (Psalm 63: 1) and that, like the doe that craves water, our […]

The joy that comes from God

The joy that comes from God

God is happy with your joy. Many times when we think of the Lord, we immediately think of the words of seriousness, fear and justice, in fact all this represents Him, but joy too! Being in the presence of God means being happy. Think with me, have you ever been sad when praising the Lord and meditating on His word? We may even be saddened by the situations we are experiencing, but in that precious moment our heart finds comfort. Where do you look for joy? Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4: 4-7 We live a decade where at all times we are bombarded, whether on television, on our smartphones or computers. Everywhere somebody is trying to sell us something: a product, an idea and even a lifestyle. These things are presented to us as if they were the solution to our […]
