We are in women’s month, which is celebrated on March 8th.
In today’s times, much is heard about the strength of women. This subject is in great evidence and there are millions of people fighting for this force to be recognized. I think it’s important that we talk about it.
Identity in Him
“Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting. But a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised”
Proverbs 31:30
I want to start by saying it’s not through your strength, woman.
I don’t know about you, but a lot of issues about women being empowered sometimes overwhelm me. I feel as if I need to produce, do and create at all times, because that way I don’t express my vulnerability, something that every human being has.
I understand that people’s struggle has many points and arguments. This is not what I want to discuss or judge, because I understand that this role is not up to me. But I want to remind you that you don’t need to burden yourself with an identity that God has already given you.
Graced by Him
“And now, my daughter, don’t be afraid. I will do for you all you ask. All the people of my town know that you are a woman of noble character”
Ruth 3:11
Once we understand who we are in Him, struggling to look like something is futile. He has promised all of us His strength and His power, when we focus our eyes on Him and Him alone.
You have a special grace, woman. You have the gift of being a mother, of caring, of loving, of caring. All this requires strength, but it does not come from you.
If you keep trying to pull that strength from you all the time, at the end of the day, you’ll feel drained and that can even frustrate you. Understand that everything in you was poured out by Him. The strength, love, and grace that matter in you are because He has enabled your heart to bear it all.
Stoned by him
“But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me”
1 Corinthians 15:10
You are precious!
God wants to take care of you, and for that you need to be poured out at His feet. The Father’s presence is where we can express our weaknesses and vulnerabilities, and thus be strengthened by Him.
We don’t need to have the same muscle strength as a man, nor think that our reasoning ability is inferior, because our weapons are not physical, they come through the wisdom of God.
We can be strong because He is strong, we can be wise because He is wise, and nothing that is of the Father is withheld from Him, but bestowed upon each of us who seek these virtues in Him. You are much more in the Father, more than you think, more than what people say about you, more than what is demanded of you, more than what you are trying to do with your own hands.
Let the Father remind you every day how He strengthens your hands, polishing the valuable diamond that you are.
“Then Hannah prayed and said: ‘My heart rejoices in the Lord. In the Lord my horn is lifted high. My mouth boasts over my enemies, for I delight in your deliverance”
1 Samuel 2:1
