Prayer: True wealth

Lord, may Your presence be my greatest wealth. Deliver me from measuring Your blessing by what I possess. Often, without realizing it, I compare my life to that of others and begin to believe that success, money, comfort, and achievements are proof that someone is closer to You.
Teach me not to confuse prosperity with Your presence. When I have much, may I not forget You, and when I have little, may I not think that I have been abandoned. May I learn to recognize that the greatest blessing is not what You can place in my hands, but the fact that I can have You. Father, just as You said to Abraham: “I am your shield, your very great Reward,” teach me to find my reward in You.
May my security not be in what I possess materially or in any achievement of this life. If all these things are added to me, may I receive them with gratitude, but if I lack anything, may my heart remain firm.
Father, do not allow circumstances to determine how much I believe You are with me. Guard my heart from the power of what I possess. Do not allow resources to occupy the place that belongs only to You. If I receive in abundance, give me wisdom to manage everything and humility so as not to turn it into pride. May what comes into my hands also be able to reach other people.
Teach me that having resources is also carrying responsibilities and that everything I receive can become an instrument of love, generosity, and service. And, when I go through times of scarcity, teach me contentment. May I be able to say, like Paul, that even having little I can possess everything in Christ.
I do not want to depend on favorable circumstances to have peace. I do not want to need a comfortable life to recognize that I am loved by You. May Your presence be enough to sustain my heart in any season.
God, change the way I understand true blessing. May I not just want to receive from You, but to belong more and more to You. If You give me resources, may they be used for Your glory. May I have gratitude and not lose faith. In all moments, may I remember that there is a wealth that no circumstance can take away: Christ in me. May Your presence be my greatest treasure, my security, my contentment, and my true wealth.
In the name of Jesus. Amen.
