Prayer: Shame, never more!

Prayer: Shame, never more!

Whoever is more shy knows how difficult and challenging it can be to talk to people for anything, to talk to many people then… Shame can get in the way of our lives in many ways, whether at work, college or even at church. With this, even our ministries and calls from God to our lives can be impacted.

The fact that we have shame also hinders the fulfillment of a great commandment for us Christians, which is found in the text of Matthew 28:19;20: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age”.

We can often miss the opportunity to introduce Jesus to others. One day, someone sowed the word of Christ in your and my life or in the life of someone close to us. In the same way, we have the mission to present to people the greatest good news of humanity: salvation granted to those who accept Jesus as their only savior.

Thinking about it, today we will pray for the breaking of all shame in our lives. I also want to leave here 3 verses about shame:

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

Romans 1:16

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.

2 Timothy 1:7

When you are brought before synagogues, rulers and authorities, do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.

Luke 12:11,12

Remembering that you don’t have to repeat the prayer exactly as I’m going to leave it here, because each one of us has a specific way to communicate with the Lord. But if you want to accompany me, it will be a pleasure, feel free to speak your way.

Prayer

Dear God, first of all I thank you for your undeserved grace and also because one day your word was presented to me. I thank the Lord for the life of the person who told me about Your love and I ask You to bless her. Today I want to pray for the shame that often prevents me from going further, disturbing my daily life.

I don’t want shame to be an impediment in my life, I want to have the strength to speak and act in the necessary way and that’s why I ask that instead of cowardice, I have courage. I ask you to take away all shyness from me, to free me from everything that has been impeding me, to take away the need for approval and the fear of my life.

May my approval come from You and not from man. I pray that my greatest desire is to please You. I know that sometimes I fail to speak of your love to those around me, so I also pray not to be afraid to speak your message, but to be brave and intentional to spread your love and this way many people will be reached for your honor and glory.

Father, forgive me for the times when I let the shame get in my way. I don’t want to let it happen anymore, so transform me. It is in Jesus’ name that I pray and ask that my words reach the Lord like a sweet perfume!

Prayer of a mere servant of God

God bless you!

Prayer: Purify and restore

Prayer: Purify and restore

Father, today I stand before You, acknowledging my need for the presence of Your Holy Spirit. There are areas of my life that often resemble dry, weary, and barren land. There are times when my faith weakens, my heart becomes heavy, and my soul thirsts for the water that only You can offer. Therefore, I ask You: pour out Your showers of blessing upon me. May Your Spirit renew what is worn out, restore what is broken, and bring life where there is dryness. Just as You promised to pour water upon the thirsty land, I acknowledge my dependence on You. I do not want to seek satisfaction in the fleeting things of this world, but in the inexhaustible source of Your presence. Fill my heart with Your peace, strengthen my faith, and help me remain close to You at all times. May Your Spirit flow through my life like rivers of living water, bringing hope, direction, and renewal to every area that needs Your touch. Holy Spirit, fall upon me like a flood. Invade the places in my heart that I have not yet fully surrendered to the Lord. Wash away my worries, my fears, my insecurities, and everything […]

Prayer: Guarding my steps

Prayer: Guarding my steps

Father, I know that many times I make decisions based only on what my eyes can see. Just as Lot saw a land that was beautiful, fertile, and full of possibilities, I am also tempted to choose paths based on appearance, comfort, and immediate opportunities. Forgive me for the times when I considered only the visible benefits and failed to seek Your direction. Give me a sensitive heart to discern not only what seems good, but what is truly part of Your will for my life. Help me understand that the environments I choose to remain in deeply influence who I become. Guard my heart from influences that pull me away from Your presence, and strengthen my faith to remain in places that promote spiritual growth, even when they do not seem the most attractive in human eyes. May I never exchange Your peace for temporary advantages, nor Your presence for empty promises that do not come from You. Father, give me wisdom to recognize the moments when I need to leave behind certain seasons, relationships, habits, or environments. Many times I cling to what I already know out of fear of change or uncertainty. But I know that when […]
