Prayer: Peace beyond the rain

Having the peace that passes all understanding means being at peace on rainy days as well as on sunny days. Whether in difficult times or when everything is going well. It goes beyond all the reasons that surround us for being good or bad in a situation, it goes beyond everything we have within us and around us.

Today I want to pray with you about this peace, so that we can ask God to fill us with it and that it is not just an emotion in our hearts, but a lifestyle.

You don’t need to pray exactly as I’m going to say here. I know that everyone has a specific way of talking to the Father and it is important to have our intimacy with Him. I want you to feel comfortable talking to Him in your own way. But if you want, I will be happy to accompany you in this prayer.

Prayer

“God, even though there are reasons to cry, I know that I have even more reasons to smile, through the joy of the Lord that was deposited in my heart. Open my physical and spiritual eyes so that I can focus on the reasons for joy and gratitude.

May I be grateful for the happy moments and achievements where I clearly see Your care, but may my heart remain in gratitude in difficult times where I need to have patience and faith in Your silence.

Father, I ask for Your peace, so that You may pour it into my life. May it be greater than everything around me. Everything that tries to stop me and Your work, everything that I see as an obstacle or difficulty, none of this is impossible. May this peace make me see obstacles as small and already defeated, because You Lord is with me and I know that in You I can do everything.

It is from You that my strength, my hope, faith and peace come. May I have the courage and boldness to give up understanding everything and begin to trust in You and Your promises even in the hours when I am in the dark. May I trust in You even without seeing anything in front of me.

It is not always that I understand Your ways, but I will continue to give You my praise and devotion, because I know that even though I don’t understand some steps on Your path, without You, everything completely loses its meaning.

May I live for you under the storm and also in the cool shade of a sunny day. May nothing take me away from You and Your love. May Your peace be present at every step and occasion.

Thank you for everything, Father. I love you and thank you for every detail.

It is in the name of Jesus that I pray, amen!”

The right place

Throughout life, we are constantly called to make choices. Some seem obvious, attractive, and full of opportunities. Others require faith, patience, and trust in God. The problem is that not everything that looks good to our eyes is truly what is best for our future. The Bible shows us this through the story of Abraham and Lot, a narrative that remains extremely relevant for everyone who desires to live according to God’s will. Appearances can be deceiving “Lot looked around and saw that the whole plain of the Jordan toward Zoar was well watered, like the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt. (This was before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.)” Genesis 13:10 There came a time when Abraham’s and Lot’s flocks had grown so much that the land could no longer support them together. To avoid conflict, Abraham proposed that they separate and gave Lot the opportunity to choose first where he would go. Lot saw a place that, from a human perspective, seemed like the perfect choice. The plain was fertile, abundant, and promising. Everything pointed to prosperity. But Lot evaluated only what he could see. He observed the appearance of the land but ignored […]

Prayer: Running from religious fear

In the previous text, we talked a little about religious OCD and how it takes our focus away from what Christ truly expects from us. Today, I want to invite you to pray with me about this subject, so that we may feel free in the Father’s presence, seeking Him with love, gratitude, and true peace. You do not need to pray exactly as I will write here. Open your heart genuinely to God. But it will be a pleasure to accompany you in this moment of prayer and seeking. Prayer Father, I know that many times my mind is filled with fear, guilt, and thoughts that steal the peace of my faith. I know that You do not want me to live imprisoned by spiritual anxiety, constantly trying to earn a love that was already given to me on the cross. Teach me to rest in You and to remember that Your love is not sustained by my performance, but by Your infinite grace. When intrusive thoughts come, when the fear of condemnation tries to dominate my heart, and when I feel spiritually overwhelmed, help me remember Your truth. Your Word says that I was not given a spirit […]
