Prayer: Faith that is not ashamed

Father, I know that I, too, have often denied Jesus. Perhaps not with words, but with choices, attitudes, omissions, and moments when I was ashamed to demonstrate my faith. Forgive me when the fear of being rejected spoke louder than the desire to remain faithful to You. Give me courage not to hide Your name and to remember that it is a privilege to feel discomfort for choosing to follow Christ in a world that often rejects what comes from You.
Thank You that my failure has never been greater than Your grace. Just as You received Peter again, I believe that You also receive me when I return to You. When I feel unworthy, ashamed, or distant, remind me that I do not need to fix myself before coming to Your feet. I am loved even while I am still being transformed. Help me to abandon shame and run again into Your presence, knowing that Your arms remain open.
May the love of Christ compel me every day. May I never grow accustomed to the grace I have received, nor treat as something small the sacrifice that Jesus made for me. Because I am reached by Your forgiveness, teach me to forgive. Because I am loved by You, teach me to love. Because I am being restored, make me an instrument of restoration in the lives of those You have placed around me. May my relationships be a place where Your grace overflows.
Make me, truly, salt of the earth! Carrying the DNA of Christ.
Jesus, help me to fix my eyes on You. When I look at my mistakes, remind me of Your cross. When I look at my limitations, remind me of Your strength. When I feel the urge to return to old paths, remind me that Your presence is worth more than any momentary desire. May I not allow my pride, fear, or shame to create distance between me and the Lord, also distancing me from the people You have placed in my life. Teach me to walk in unity, humility, and love.
Lord, in the face of every desire, temptation, or difficult choice, may I remember Him who did not deny me, even in the face of the greatest suffering. May I not negotiate Your presence to receive anyone's approval. May I choose Christ again, every day. Thank You that grace does not call me to remain distant, but invites me to come back home. I return to You, Lord. Receive me, restore me, transform me, and use my life to reveal to others the love that once found me and continues to reach me. In the name of Jesus, amen.
