Prayer: Overcoming your insecurities!
As human beings we sometimes have complexes, insecurities that come in and make us feel too small, but as we saw in the last text, we don’t need to live feeling inferior or having self-pity, because we are children of God and all equal before Him. As it is written in 2 Timothy 1:7: “For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of fortitude, and of love, and of moderation.
With this in mind, today I want to pray with you, that you will overcome your complexes. Your God is bigger than any feeling of inferiority or self-pity. I also suggest reading the last text if you haven’t read it yet (click here). I also leave here some passages for you who have been feeling this way:
For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of fortitude, and of love, and of moderation.
Why are you downcast, O my soul, and why are you troubled within me? Hope in God; for I shall yet praise Him, who is the salvation of my face, and my God.
Psalms 42:11
As He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him in love; And predestined us to be sons of adoption through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the counsel of His will, To the praise of the glory of His grace, whereby He has made us pleasing to Himself in the Beloved,
Ephesians 1:4-6
Remember that you don’t have to repeat the prayer exactly as I’m going to leave it here, because each one of us has a specific way of communicating with the Lord. But if you want to follow along, it will be a pleasure, feel free to speak it in your own way.
Prayer
Beloved God, first I thank you because you created me in your image and likeness, I also thank you for giving your son so that I too could become a son loved by you. Thank you for first loving me, even before I was formed in my mother’s womb and for being by my side in every situation. I know that even when I feel small, I have a Father who loves me and who is greater than any challenge, who is King of Kings and Physician of Physicians.
Father, sometimes I feel inferior and with that I have self-pity for myself, so I ask for your help my Lord, for I know that all on this earth are equal before You and that those who humble themselves in Your presence will be exalted. May my identity be firm in You my God, so that each day I can make more of a difference in the lives of those around me. I want to be a confident person who is sure of who I am, because I have the greatest treasure I could ever have, the Lord in my life. May I overcome all my complexes through His mercy.
My beloved, rebuke in me all insecurity, fear, inferiority complex, and self-pity. I ask you to pour out your grace upon me, fill me with your joy, the confidence of having a Father who watches over me, the certainty that better days will come! My God, yours is the power, the glory and the honor forever. It is in the name of Jesus that I pray, give thanks, and ask that my words may reach the Lord like a sweet perfume!
