Prayer: Identity of Jesus

Previously, we talked a little about some of the names by which Jesus is called throughout the biblical texts. There are many others that I did not mention in the previous text, names that are presented in prophecies since the Old Testament until they become palpable in the New Testament.

Regardless of the name that catches your attention the most or the one that is most repeated in the Bible, God remains the same and reveals Himself to us with grace and mercy.

I want to invite you to pray today about recognizing this God at any time, place, or situation.

You don’t need to pray exactly as I’m going to say here. I know that everyone has their way of talking to the Father, and it is important that we individually seek intimacy with Him. Therefore, feel comfortable talking to the Lord in your own way. But if you want, I will be happy to accompany you in this prayer.

Prayer

“Lord God, I recognize Your greatness and majesty. I know that Your name is the clear expression of Your love and grace towards us. I cry out for Your presence in my life.

Thank you for revealing to us in such a sweet and powerful way the name of Jesus, which is above every name. May, when pronouncing this name, I have reverence and fear for everything it represents and delivers to me through its grace, understanding the greatness of the Father and the Son.

Omnipresent God, I understand that there is no place where Your presence is not, and I know that I need nothing more than it. May at every step, the Lord teach me to discern Your voice, whether in a whisper or in a loud sound; I want to know You so much that His voice never goes unnoticed.

I want sensitive ears to distinguish Your guidance amid the noise of the world and courage to follow each step. May I feel Your presence, not only in sanctuaries and temples, but in whatever place and occasion, be abundantly present in my life, Father.

May my eyes be open to see Your beauty in everyday simplicity, and may my heart be in tune with Your will, sensitive to feel You even in the midst of the turmoil of life.

Lord, teach me to follow the example of Jesus, the name that is a beacon of hope in the midst of darkness. May, by recognizing His name, I be empowered to love as He loved, to forgive as He forgave and to live in total submission to Your will, just as He did.

May I proclaim the name of Jesus boldly, showing everyone how we find redemption, healing, and eternal life in Him. May this name be my strength in moments of weakness and my song in days of joy.

In Your presence, Father, I find comfort and direction. Guide my steps and align my dreams with Yours. Pour upon me the grace of Your name.

We pray in the name of Jesus, the Savior, Anointed One, and Son of God. Amen.”

The right place

Throughout life, we are constantly called to make choices. Some seem obvious, attractive, and full of opportunities. Others require faith, patience, and trust in God. The problem is that not everything that looks good to our eyes is truly what is best for our future. The Bible shows us this through the story of Abraham and Lot, a narrative that remains extremely relevant for everyone who desires to live according to God’s will. Appearances can be deceiving “Lot looked around and saw that the whole plain of the Jordan toward Zoar was well watered, like the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt. (This was before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.)” Genesis 13:10 There came a time when Abraham’s and Lot’s flocks had grown so much that the land could no longer support them together. To avoid conflict, Abraham proposed that they separate and gave Lot the opportunity to choose first where he would go. Lot saw a place that, from a human perspective, seemed like the perfect choice. The plain was fertile, abundant, and promising. Everything pointed to prosperity. But Lot evaluated only what he could see. He observed the appearance of the land but ignored […]

Prayer: Running from religious fear

In the previous text, we talked a little about religious OCD and how it takes our focus away from what Christ truly expects from us. Today, I want to invite you to pray with me about this subject, so that we may feel free in the Father’s presence, seeking Him with love, gratitude, and true peace. You do not need to pray exactly as I will write here. Open your heart genuinely to God. But it will be a pleasure to accompany you in this moment of prayer and seeking. Prayer Father, I know that many times my mind is filled with fear, guilt, and thoughts that steal the peace of my faith. I know that You do not want me to live imprisoned by spiritual anxiety, constantly trying to earn a love that was already given to me on the cross. Teach me to rest in You and to remember that Your love is not sustained by my performance, but by Your infinite grace. When intrusive thoughts come, when the fear of condemnation tries to dominate my heart, and when I feel spiritually overwhelmed, help me remember Your truth. Your Word says that I was not given a spirit […]
