Becoming unrecognizable

Becoming unrecognizable

The journey of faith needs to make us unrecognizable.

This does not mean forcing ourselves to look like something we are not, but truly being transformed.

Processes

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

Galatians 2:20

Nothing changes who God is; no situation or person holds such power. But nothing remains the same wherever God passes.

His presence needs to kill who you are so that you become more and more like Him.

At times, we try to change the Lord without realizing it. We want to teach Him how to do something, aligning His desires with ours, not the other way around. The problem is that this frustrates us and keeps us away from our promises because we are the ones who need change and direction.

Change hurts; the refinement process is painful at some points. We need to let go of who we are used to being. And the secret to getting through all this stronger is to focus on who we will become while walking with Christ.

Transformable

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Romans 12:2

Your text is well-written! Here’s a minor adjustment for clarity:

It is not possible to have unshakable faith without facing challenges that usually shake us and teach us to stand firm. God’s purpose crushes and breaks our “self.” Everything we are accustomed to being, the way we typically act, is destroyed so that He can grow in us and truly transform us.

Walking with God must result in a change within us, leading us to distance ourselves from certain places and people, altering our attitudes.

Change has already instilled a feeling of shame in me, as if there were reasons for embarrassment in changing, which makes us afraid of being mocked by people from our past.

Delivery and change

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Jeremiah 29:11

Don’t be ashamed to walk with Christ; don’t deny everything He has done for you and in you. It is a reason for joy to show everyone what God has done in your life. This transformation needs to be real, generating a feeling of achievement and relief, of being found and loved by God.

You are chosen every day by Him; choose to be with Him every day too. Your change can influence many people around you, awakening their interest in seeking this truth as well.

The Gospel must generate a transformation that makes you unrecognizable, and for this to be possible, you need to give everything and be completely available for God’s move.

He has much more for you than the place you are or dream of reaching!

The right place

Throughout life, we are constantly called to make choices. Some seem obvious, attractive, and full of opportunities. Others require faith, patience, and trust in God. The problem is that not everything that looks good to our eyes is truly what is best for our future. The Bible shows us this through the story of Abraham and Lot, a narrative that remains extremely relevant for everyone who desires to live according to God’s will. Appearances can be deceiving “Lot looked around and saw that the whole plain of the Jordan toward Zoar was well watered, like the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt. (This was before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.)” Genesis 13:10 There came a time when Abraham’s and Lot’s flocks had grown so much that the land could no longer support them together. To avoid conflict, Abraham proposed that they separate and gave Lot the opportunity to choose first where he would go. Lot saw a place that, from a human perspective, seemed like the perfect choice. The plain was fertile, abundant, and promising. Everything pointed to prosperity. But Lot evaluated only what he could see. He observed the appearance of the land but ignored […]

Prayer: Running from religious fear

In the previous text, we talked a little about religious OCD and how it takes our focus away from what Christ truly expects from us. Today, I want to invite you to pray with me about this subject, so that we may feel free in the Father’s presence, seeking Him with love, gratitude, and true peace. You do not need to pray exactly as I will write here. Open your heart genuinely to God. But it will be a pleasure to accompany you in this moment of prayer and seeking. Prayer Father, I know that many times my mind is filled with fear, guilt, and thoughts that steal the peace of my faith. I know that You do not want me to live imprisoned by spiritual anxiety, constantly trying to earn a love that was already given to me on the cross. Teach me to rest in You and to remember that Your love is not sustained by my performance, but by Your infinite grace. When intrusive thoughts come, when the fear of condemnation tries to dominate my heart, and when I feel spiritually overwhelmed, help me remember Your truth. Your Word says that I was not given a spirit […]
