In today’s text, we are going to talk about the person who generated us, the person who carried us in her womb and the one who was chosen by God to bring us into the world. Yes, our dear and beloved mothers.
But calm down. If you are not a mother, do not leave now. Read the text to the end, as I’m sure we can take a very incredible lesson, for our lives, through our mothers.
Come with us!
What does the Bible say about “mother”?
God attaches great importance to mothers, especially in raising their children. Together with the father, both have the role of caring, protecting and walking their children’s lives in the ways of the Lord. And children have the obligation to respect, obey and honor their parents.
“My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:
For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.”
Proverbs 1: 8-9
The mother takes care of her children with her own body and is the second person to know that little, fragile, helpless and so loved being, coming right after God. The mother watches over the good of her children, the affection and shows with love what is right and what is wrong.
To have an idea of how a mother’s love is something strong and deep, the prophet Isaiah compares God’s love to the mother’s love:
“Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.”
Isaiah 49:15
A mother’s love is what comforts us and the care of God through the lives of mothers is very clear.
Great mothers in the Bible
To better understand the importance of mothers in their children’s lives, we want to bring here some names of exemplary mothers in the Bible:
Maria
Mother of Jesus who risked her reputation and everything she had to fulfill God’s purpose in her life. She was called blessed because she had the honor of carrying the Master in her womb and giving birth to our Savior.
Eunice
Eunice was the mother of Timothy (to whom Paul wrote the first and the second to Timothy). She raised her son in the ways of the Lord and always in faith in Jesus.
Jochebed
The mother of Moses, who protected his son from Pharaoh and was rewarded by God. Jochebed’s care for her son’s life was also responsible for the liberation of God’s people.
Simple tribute:
“I want to tell you, Mum
That you’re special to the Lord,
And you are valued in His eyes,
For no one loves you more.
And Mum, I want you to know
How blessed you really are,
For I know that it was never easy,
Those past years were quite hard.
But even through the years gone by,
I believe that God was there,
Reaching out with loving arms,
Though we were unaware.
And He is still beside you
Longing to be a part
Of all the things that interest you,
For you’re special in His heart.
For even in the daily struggles
That seems to be part of life,
The Lord longs to be involved
And fill the void inside.
So Mum, on this Mother’s Day,
I just want you to know
That you were always appreciated
And that Jesus loves you so.”

For you who are not a mother:
Take advantage of this weekend to honor the mothers. As much as we are in times of social distance, use that time to care, love and give gifts in a different way! Mothers are a gift from God in our lives, so we should thank God for their lives and take care of each one of them.
Grace and peace.
I left a reply a few days ago. Where is it?
AMEN, and Thank You. God Bless You All !

May our Mother Mary intercede for the world on this pandemic that it will roll away.
Women were also made in his image; and I like to think ; he gave us some of his best qualities to women,we love, nurture, and we show mercy, and respect, and give suportwhen needed, we or just in our ways!!!
Amen
A beautiful and loving tribute!
Amen. This makes me feel so special in the eyes of God. I love being a mother with Godly influence to every child. I am so blessed. Thank you. Be blessed abundantly.
Thank you for that well scropted tribute to Mothers However l.think you should have broaden it to grandmothers as well as to those who adopted children and nurture and cherish them as their own.
Why limit this opportunity, a mothers love isnt blood but relational…a gift of the heart embracing love, leave it there🕆🕊we’re all Gods creation no matter what level we took on loving the children Gods blessed us with, be thankful in that💓✡🕆🕊
That’s a true statement
I love how Mothers are the focal point because they nurture us. Thank you for acknowledging those of us who have never given birth physically. Nevertheless, we too are women who have had nurturing Mother’s whom we love and miss. I honor all Mother’s during this time and I speak blessings healing and strength and peace into your lives. I wish God can see through my pains, sacrifices and tears of many years and make a mother. I’m really loosing my mind…my marriage has been going through so much hard times both financially, reproductively and emotionally. I really wish God will show me that he hasn’t abandoned me and give me little rests from so many battle going in my life which I can’t even voice out or write down.
Continue trusting in God my sister, cast all your your cares to Him and He will give you rest for He is the burden lifter. I pray that your soul may be healed from all the wounds to allow the Holy Spirit to work in your. May the blood of Jesus Christ speak over your life. Receive His peace in Jesus name.
Dont waste your time in troubles but fellowship with encouraging people, read your Bible & cry out yo God so HE may restore your joy…
Your pain is apparent, yet you miss the breath that awakened you & whose it was…when God closes a door he opens windows plz dont blind u in troubles for this refining process is a pruning in our purpose. Pray & realize u r not alone for my lifes been a hell too but i refuse to let ot overshadow me for i know whole heartedly He is my refuge & strength. Hes listening & will not leave nor forsake us nor can any1 or thing pull us from HIS PURPOSE. My moms going into permanent care & i am her Cinderella but the only 1 here for her Thankful, Grateful & truely BLESSED! I’M PRAYING for both of us because pain is real but handing it over & let God releases & opens us for true forgiveness. Let Gods will lead🕆
God gives His hardest battles to His strongest warriors…see the blessing in the pain…you are being refined into something magnificently beautiful 💞
Obi,
I’m so sorry for your struggles. Here’s what the Lord says if you really want deliverence.
God’s will is for us to become disciples of His teaching. Matthew 28:19-20 . Jesus always does His part. You do yours friend. You read and study Matthew, Mark and Luke every day. Sit at His feet reading His ministry and learn from Him what is righteous.
Ask Him to deliver you and give you REST. Then believe Him.
He says ” Come to me all you who are weary and heavy burdened and I WILL GIVE YOU REST. Take my yoke upon you and LEARN from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and YOU WILL find rest for your souls. For my burden is light and my yoke is easy”
The Gospel is a story of God’s love granting repentance to those who would turn from their sins and listen to His Son. Jesus teaches us on the mountain to do things God’s way in life and through that a new birth emerges in our hearts.
God bless you as you respond and know your not alone.💕
Eve u have insight from your commitment to Gods will in your life & your reply is encouraging… we hav 2 remember we are being renewed in Christs likeness & that’s unconditionally loving, in that we culminate his will for our existence & deeply root our being for his use to others hes holding, reaching to & touching… Mother’s keep up your good work ✡Gods face shine upon y’all 🕆💓🕊
Obi, I left a reply several days ago on how to come out described by Christ. I don’t see it posted here.
