How many times does the “what if…” paralyze us?
“What if I don’t know what to say?”
“What if they reject my faith?”
“What if I am not prepared?”
These questions, although common, cannot become excuses to ignore what God has already called us to.
The Great Commission is not a suggestion, just an option presented by God. It is a direct call for all who follow Christ. And this call does not depend on perfection, but on willingness.
“Go” is a commandment
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,”
Matthew 28:19
Jesus left a clear order before ascending to heaven. He didn’t say “if you want to,” nor “when you feel ready,” but He declared with authority what His disciples should do, seeking empowerment in Him to follow through.
This instruction reveals that evangelizing is not an exclusive function of leaders or missionaries, but of every Christian. The “Go” does not depend on context, personality, or the ideal moment; it is an essential part of our faith. This is everyday life.
He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” (Mark 16:15)
There is no room for negotiation. The Gospel needs to be proclaimed, and God decided to count on ordinary people, like you and me, to fulfill this purpose as a lifestyle.
Your mission field
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Matthew 5:16
We often think that fulfilling God’s call means going far away, crossing the ocean, or living something extraordinary, where it becomes clear to everyone why we are doing it. But the truth is that our first mission field starts exactly where we are.
Your home, your work, your studies, friendships… all moments, from the simplest of everyday life, are opportunities to reflect Christ. Evangelizing is not just talking, but mainly living in a way that people see Jesus in you.
In Acts, we see that the expansion of the Gospel started close by: “…you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem…” (Acts 1:8)
Jerusalem was the place where they were. This teaches us that before thinking about the distant, God calls us to be faithful in what is near, in everyday life.
Reflecting God at church is much simpler than in our ordinary moments, where we are inattentive. Therefore, if your lifestyle makes it clear how Jesus is in your walk, this becomes your greatest truth in all areas, it becomes something natural. Then God expands the horizons so that more people are reached through your life.
Don’t let fear paralyze you
“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.”
2 Timothy 1:7
Fear, insecurity, and doubt are some of the biggest obstacles to fulfilling the call. But God always empowers us. Whether before or during.
If God called you, He also strengthens you. The authority doesn’t come from you, but from Him. The power is not in your oratory, knowledge, or ability to persuade, but in the presence of the Holy Spirit acting through your life. It is the way He wants, with the strength and grace that come from Him.
Jesus also promised: “…And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20)
You are not alone. Every step of obedience is accompanied by the presence of God. Because of this, the “what if…” must give way to “here I am”.
The Kingdom of God counts on you. Not with a perfect version, but with an available heart. Not because you are irreplaceable and capable on your own, but because God has a purpose through your life, and you need this.
Wherever you are today, there is an opportunity to radiate Jesus. Do not allow fear to silence what God wants to do in you and to others, through you.
