What are your priorities?

What are your priorities?

Have we given due importance to the Word of God? Has the Lord been a priority in our lives? Or do we leave to have a moment with God only at the end of the day and prefer to do other things before?

In today’s blog, we would like to bring this reflection! We know that God and His Word are extremely important, but have we given due attention? I think this reflection is valid for all of us!

Come on?

The day by day!

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

Matthew 6: 33

In our life, we have several things to do. We have dreams, plans and projects and we strive and dedicate ourselves to achieve them. However, we understand that if our dreams and plans are not in accordance with God’s will, we will never be able to please God, much less be truly happy.

Happiness is exclusively tied to the will of God in our lives. We Christians know very well that deep, true and overflowing happiness cannot be found in the things of the world. Okay, but what does all this have to do with the importance of the Bible?

My leader made a reflection with me and I would like to do with you. Imagine that my mother asks me to pick up a blue object, which is on top of a room, in her room. I get there and realize that, above this room, exactly where my mom said, has a blue hairbrush, blue glasses and a blue hair dryer. However, instead of asking my mom what she wanted, I just take the blue hairbrush and take it to her.

Thinking about it, two things can happen: either I got it right or I got it wrong, right? However, if I had talked to her before, I could avoid having to go back to the room and get the right thing. If I had asked her what she wanted, I would have a 100% chance of getting it right.

In our life with God it works the same way.

Give priority to the Lord and His Word!

“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”

Joshua 1: 8

In our walk with God, we need to seek Him first of all! We will never be able to understand His will if we do not go to Him and ask.

In order for us to live the will of God in our lives (Romans 12: 2), we need to be different from the world and seek God with all our hearts, so that we can understand what He wants from us and also, understand if what we are doing is right or wrong.

Okay, but what if I don’t talk to God and get it right? First of all, I want to remind you that you are not the one who gets it right, but the Lord makes you get it right. Second, God can use and speak through anyone or anything. And lastly, I would like to ask you a question: do you really want to live your life with the Lord, based on the “what if”? I’m sorry to inform you, but when we do the right thing the wrong way, we are doing the wrong thing.

Christ calls us to rise to the ruler, not to stay in the middle and doing only what religion tells us to do. We need to go deeper, to go further in love, obedience and fear. Therefore, we must learn to seek the Lord first of all and consult His Word.

Grace and peace!
