There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,
Ecclesiastes 3:1,2
Today we will begin the series “The Seasons of Life”, where through 4 texts we will be led to reflect on the moments through which our lives are composed by making an analogy with the seasons of the year, thus being spring, summer, autumn and winter.
Without a doubt, we can say that our life is full of different circumstances that are not always well defined as the seasons, sometimes spring is not only flowers and thinking about this I remembered a violin concerto by a very famous Italian composer named Antonio Vivaldi, entitled “The Four Seasons”.
In his composition, through music he brings in different notes these nuances that exist within each season, just like life, but it is still possible to perceive that there is a cycle, a beginning, a middle, and an end. In the Bible we find numerous passages that speak exactly about this, the weather, and for our first reflection we will talk about spring.
Spring
See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land. The fig tree forms its early fruit; the blossoming vines spread their fragrance. Arise, come, my darling; my beautiful one, come with me.
Song of Songs 2:11-13
We will begin with spring, for it is the time of birth, of blossoming, of harvest. This is the time when we reap the fruit of what we have planted, but also to prepare our soil so that the new seeds can germinate and so we can continue to bear good fruit. I believe that this is the season of new cycles, perhaps this is why so many brides choose precisely this time of the year to get married.
It is also the time that reminds us of birth, when a baby is born it is the time of blossoming for many families, everyone is delighted with that new life, seeing that little child around the house brings hope to the family. After all, there are so many possibilities for this life that has just begun.
Thinking about both brides and the birth of babies, it is possible to notice that there is a care in the before, during, and after. And now drawing a comparison with our faith, when harvest time comes, do we remember to continue to care for our land? That is, do we continue to take care of our heart and feed on God’s word?
I feel that it is often at this time when we even forget to give thanks for the fruit that God has given us, let alone then continue to prepare the land for the future. Well, today I invite you to take some time and think about this.
Conclusion
In days to come Jacob will take root, Israel will bud and blossom and fill all the world with fruit.
Isaiah 27:6
I think the first attitude we can take in the face of spring is to be thankful for what God has given us, his promises that have blossomed in our lives, and along with this, to continue to cultivate, so that the soil of our hearts continues to be fertile and will bear good fruit.
God bless you!
