Prayer: We can always improve!

Prayer: We can always improve!

Even those who are meek and righteous need to constantly evaluate themselves. We cannot settle for the progress we make in the spiritual life. Even if you consider yourself more meek or righteous than others, the Lord still warns us to examine our hearts, not least because we are all sinners and should seek to grow further according to God’s standards and not our own.

So today we will pray for transformation and change of behavior. I leave here a passage especially for you today:

Let no one be deceived: if anyone among you considers himself wise according to the standards of this time of ours, then it is better to become foolish in order to attain wisdom.

1 Corinthians 3:18

Remembering that you don’t have to repeat the prayer exactly as I’m going to leave it here, because each one of us has a specific way of communicating with the Lord. But if you want to follow me, it will be a pleasure, feel free to speak it in your own way.

Prayer

Beloved God, I thank you for your undeserved love and because even though I am only a flawed person, you still stretch out your hand over me with mercy and kindness. Today I recognize that despite my progress in faith and as a person, I still have much to improve. I know that with your help and by feeding on your word I will achieve this.

Father today I pray for transformation in my mind and consequently a change in my behavior. I want to be more like Jesus and be a blessing wherever I go. May my faith salve the places I pass through and may your will be accomplished in my life, for it is good, perfect, and pleasing. Forgive me for my thoughts and attitudes that displeased you.

Thank you for being the best friend I can have. I pray that on my way I can meet good people and every day take more and more of the new opportunity to be someone better. May faith overflow in my heart and the peace that surpasses all understanding be with me and all those I love. I also want to pray for my enemies today, I pray that they will truly come to know you and find peace and salvation.

Please examine my heart and thoughts, show me if there are any evil paths in them, so that I can make wise decisions. My God, Yours is the power, the glory and the honor forever. It is in the name of Jesus that I pray, give thanks and ask that my words may reach the Lord like a sweet perfume!
