Prayer: To the only Lord

Lord, do not let me negotiate my faithfulness. Help me to remain faithful to You, even when everything around me seems to follow a different path. I do not want to be someone who seeks You only when it is easy, nor someone who stands firm in the face of great trials but loses their way in the small compromises of daily life.

Examine my heart and show me where I have allowed the values of this world to influence the way I think, act, and live. Give me discernment to recognize that which draws me away from Your Word. Do not allow me to become so accustomed to what is around me that I fail to notice what does not please You. Often, I may give in just to avoid conflict, to be accepted, or to not seem different. Teach me not to negotiate my convictions for approval. May I have the firmness to remain in Your Word and the gentleness to speak of it.

Father, I do not want my identity to be determined by parties, ideologies, opinions, or the need to belong to a group. I want to belong to You above all things. Help me to disagree without hating, to defend what I believe without despising those who think differently, and to remember that it is not I who convinces hearts, but Your Spirit. May I not confuse faithfulness to You with the need to always be right, nor allow my own opinions to take the place that belongs to Your truth.

You are my only Lord.

Strengthen my inner self so that I am not molded by everything I encounter around me. May I have deep roots in Your Word and a life of communion with You, because I know that when I am empty inside, anything can occupy that place if I do not seek You with depth and consistency.

Teach me to recognize not only what needs to change in the world, but also what needs to be corrected in me. May my life be marked by Your transformation in my heart.

God, just as You called the Church in Pergamum to repent and remain faithful, call me back whenever I begin to drift away. I do not just want to say that I would die for You; I want to learn to live for the Lord, in my choices, my words, and the way I treat people. I want to be in the world to love, serve, and proclaim Your Gospel, without allowing the world to determine my steps and devotion. May I never negotiate my identity in Christ to be accepted by that which is passing away. Above all, may I remain Yours.

In the name of Jesus, amen.

Prayer: On our knees to reach

God, I thank You for the freedom I have to know Your Word, to open the Scriptures, to hear about You, and to share the Gospel. I know that I often treat this privilege as something common, but today I want to recognize how precious it is. Lead me to places where Your Word encounters closed doors. May I not remain indifferent in the face of barriers that try to prevent Your Word from acting.
