Prayer: Renew your hope!
We are already on December 23rd and as we have already said, this has been an intense year, very different from what we could imagine and what we would like to experience. But now it is time to look at what is to come, to remember God’s faithfulness this year to us, and to renew our hopes. We must do this having the confidence that God will not abandon us, he is with us even in the midst of the storm.
The year is ending but it is still a time of hope, every day is a day to keep hope. Our Lord will not act only in 9 days when the year “turns”, no, he for sure has already done great things throughout this year, is doing, and will continue to do. So, today my prayer is for us to keep hope and have hope in the one who has the power to change everything.
I also want to leave a passage here for you today:
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:13
Remembering that you don’t have to repeat the prayer exactly as I will leave it here because each of us has a specific way to communicate with the Lord. But if you want to accompany me, it will be a pleasure, feel free to speak your way.
Prayer
Dear God, today first of all I would like to thank you for all that you have done, for your goodness, love, and care. I thank you for your faithfulness because even though this year was not as I had imagined it, I could still see your glory manifest in many ways, I thank you because today I have more faith than on January 1, 2020.
Thank you, Dad, for always being by my side in good times and bad. For taking care of me as a daughter, I am very grateful to You. This year was not easy or as I imagined it would be. I know that many have lost loved ones, others have faced unemployment, but I also know that you are taking care of each of these people.
Finally, with all this, I know that hope can be erased, but today I want to pray asking you to renew my hopes, those dear to me, and all those who need a new spirit. May our hope not be in a new year to begin, but in You, who regardless of the date can change everything. May our hope be in the Lord, who is the next hope!
I pray that every morning my hope may be renewed in You, may You give me the strength to follow, may You pour out your spirit on me. I humbly ask the Lord that my next year will be even better than this one, I pray for a year full of your blessings, a year where everyone will be full of hope and reasons to give thanks.
At this moment I also want to place in your hands those who can no longer see the good, all those who are tired and downcast, give them a new look at the world. Father, I have seen so many sad people and it has hurt in my heart, so at this moment I rebuke all the sadness, depression, and anxiety in the lives of those who are dear to me, and may they have renewed hope.
It is in the name of Jesus that I pray, give thanks, and ask that my words may reach the Lord like a sweet perfume!
