Father, today we place ourselves before You, recognizing that You know all things. You know what we were, what we are, and what we will still become. Even knowing our failures, wrong choices, and weaknesses, You continue to call us close. Just as in the beginning, when You placed before humanity the choice between obeying or disobeying, You continue to offer us the path of life. We were not created as robots or forced servants, but as children who are free to choose to walk with You in love.
Many times we are like Adam and Eve. We know what is right, yet we are still drawn to what seems easier, faster, or more pleasurable. Our hearts are fragile and easily deceived by our own desires. Forgive us for the times we chose the “fruit” that You told us not to touch. Forgive us for the times we preferred our own will instead of Your direction.
God, teach us to choose obedience every day. May Your Spirit give us discernment to recognize the voices that try to pull us away from You. May we remember that Your commandments were never meant to limit us, but to protect us and lead us to a full life in Your presence. Give us a heart that is sensitive to Your Word and willing to remain firm on Your path.
We also thank You because, even before the fall, You had already prepared redemption. Even before human failure, Your love had already planned the cross. This shows that Your grace is greater than any failure of ours. Where there was disobedience, You raised up a path of restoration. Where there was failure, Your love offered forgiveness and new life.
Therefore, Father, today we choose once again to remain in You. Give us strength to resist what pulls us away from Your heart and courage to obey even when it is not easy. May our love for You be proven in our daily choices. Instead of reaching out for the fruit of disobedience, may we stretch out our hands to You, trusting that Your will will always be the best path.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
