Prayer: Do not negotiate the encounter

Father, I place myself before You and acknowledge that, often, I have sought comfort, speed, and experiences that satisfy what I want. Forgive me when I turn my walk with You into a search for sensations, convenience, or entertainment. Teach me to remember that worship does not exist to please me, but to honor You. May my heart return to the right place: Your presence.

Give me the willingness to remain. Even when I am tired, uncomfortable, or lacking the desire, help me not to negotiate my encounter with You. Remove from me the hurry that prevents depth. May I learn to wait, listen, and receive what Your Word desires to produce in me, even when it confronts what I need to change.

Jesus, teach me to love Your church and my brothers and sisters. May I not seek a perfect community, but learn to serve, forgive, endure, share, and walk in unity. Use every encounter to transform my heart. And may what I receive in fellowship with my brothers and sisters not end when I leave the temple, but continue with me throughout the week, reaching also my secret life, my home, my work, and all my relationships.

Kindle in me a fire that does not depend on music, a word, an environment, or an experience. Purify what needs to die in me and reveal everything I have placed above You. Deliver me from worshipping myself while I think I am worshipping You. May my pursuit of excellence never turn into idolatry, and may no outward form be more important than the true surrender of my heart.

God, make me someone hungry for Your presence and willing to remain before You. May I understand that revival requires surrender, that transformation requires time. I know that Your presence is worth more than any comfort this world can offer.

Christ is sufficient for me, and I need nothing else to remain. I want to honor You with my life, with my time, and with my true worship. May everything in me point to Your glory.

In the name of Jesus, amen.

Prayer: Faith that is not ashamed

Father, I know that I, too, have often denied Jesus. Perhaps not with words, but with choices, attitudes, omissions, and moments when I was ashamed to demonstrate my faith. Forgive me when the fear of being rejected spoke louder than the desire to remain faithful to You. Give me courage not to hide Your name and to remember that it is a privilege to feel discomfort for choosing to follow Christ in a world that often rejects what comes from You.
