“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
Matthew 6:33
The Kingdom of God
“The time has come,” He said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”
Mark 1:15
Jesus came into the world announcing a new reality: the Kingdom of God. Not a political kingdom with borders, but a spiritual realm that transforms the heart and life of those who believe. This Kingdom begins within us and is reflected in our attitudes, values, and decisions.
Jesus taught that the Kingdom of God is like a mustard seed (Mark 4:30-32)—small in human eyes, but it grows and transforms everything around it. It is also like a hidden treasure (Matthew 13:44), worth more than any earthly possession once found. These teachings show that living under God’s rule means letting go of what is temporary to receive what is eternal.
To live the Kingdom is to love as Jesus loved, forgive as He forgave, and serve as He served. It’s not a distant future, but a present reality for those who surrender to God’s will and place Christ at the center of everything. We live the Kingdom as if we had already attained it, so that one day we truly will.
The Purpose of Life
“For in Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through Him and for Him.”
Colossians 1:16
The Bible teaches us that we were created by God and for God. Our existence is not random, but the result of an eternal purpose. We are called to glorify God in everything we do—from small daily actions to great accomplishments.
The abundant life God offers goes beyond material blessings. It is a life full of meaning, peace, fellowship, and purpose. It’s about living not only for ourselves, but for the good of others and the Kingdom of Heaven. It’s about discovering that our identity is in Christ and that each step has direction when we follow His ways.
Our purpose is to be the light of the world and the salt of the earth (Matthew 5:13-16). Every gift, talent, and resource we have must be used to edify the Body of Christ and reveal God’s love to the world, so that more people may experience the Kingdom. When we understand this calling, we no longer live bound by the logic of this world but are free to fulfill the Father’s will with joy and obedience.
Set Apart for God
“But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: ‘Be holy, because I am holy.’”
1 Peter 1:15-16
God calls us to live a holy life—not as a burden, but as a response to His love. Holiness is the mark of a Christian who desires to reflect Christ in both character and conduct.
Being holy doesn’t mean isolating ourselves from the world, but rather living in it without being corrupted by its standards—being a light so that more people may come to know this love. In Romans 12:2, Paul says, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…”
We must deny sin and follow God’s will above all else. We need to live with a pure heart in the midst of a corrupted generation, being examples of truth, integrity, and love.
Holiness prepares us to see God. This calling is challenging, but it is possible through the presence of the Holy Spirit within us. He strengthens, purifies, and enables us to live a life set apart for the Lord, marked by the Spirit’s transforming power.
