Today we will talk a little bit about humility here, a trait that is so important but sometimes seems so lacking for us. Humility is the opposite of being proud, arrogant, or haughty. As such, this is a trait that is highly praised throughout the Bible and often precedes honor, as is written in Proverbs 15:33, and 18:12.
In the eyes of the world, many times being a humble person is a sign of weakness or something bad, but we should not see it this way, because it takes a lot of wisdom and self-control to act this way. There are several biblical passages that emphasize the need to have a humble spirit.
Grace is bestowed on the humble
He mocks mockers, but gives grace to the humble.
Proverbs 3:34
True humility is developed by the action and indwelling of the Holy Spirit in our lives. In this way, humility is not a mere inferiority complex, but rather, a sincere attitude that gives no room for self-sufficiency. He who is truly humble recognizes his total dependence on God; he knows that everything he has comes from the Lord. As it is written in the word above, the Bible says that God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.
Through the prophet Isaiah, the very God who is lofty and great, says that He delights to dwell with the one who has a contrite and humble spirit, as it is written in Isaiah 57:15. The Lord Jesus also said that the humble are blessed. Furthermore, He Himself declared, “Take My judgment upon you, and learn of Me, for I am meek and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls,” Matthew 11:29.
One of Jesus’ parables also deals exactly with this issue. In the Parable of the First Places, Jesus taught an important lesson about humility and self-deprecation. This parable harmonizes with the teaching that humility precedes honor. This is why Jesus concluded the parable by saying that whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.
In Philippians 2:3, Paul exhorts Christians not to do anything out of selfish ambition or vanity, but out of humility, followers of Christ should consider others superior to themselves. The same apostle advises believers to develop true humility, a humility that is accompanied by other virtues such as mercy, kindness, gentleness, longsuffering, forgiveness, and especially love. This love, however, is not just any kind of love, but it is agape love, a selfless and true love.
Conclusion
May we, as children of God, seek humility above anything or any vainglory. Showing the world the true identity of those who are in Christ and giving our example to those who do not yet know God.
God bless you!

Christianity teaches cowardness .
I understand where you are coming from. Cowardness is running away from confrontation. Jesus (christianity) walked right into the confrontation and did not waver even until his murder (crucifixion). He didn’t out yell his accusers nor did he resort to violence. He responded to everyone with Truth and humility. And the accusers became even more filled with hate and anger. I myself am a believer and my occupation was a firefighter and this saying is very true “when everyone is running away from a dangerous situation firefighter s and I are always walking into whatever unknown danger is before us”. Jesus did not say be a coward. He said be still and know that I am God. I am the Truth, I am the Life, and I am the Way. No man comes to the Father but through me.
Do you realize how much courage it takes to tell someone that I am a believer in today’s world.
Be humble, because all have sinned and fallen short of his Glory. There is not one righteous in the site of God. Be humble and except his Grace, forgiveness, and His gift of eternal life. Love you Steve
