You don’t have to live in a hurry, God has a time for everything

You don’t have to live in a hurry, God has a time for everything

I see that the last generations are the ones who most talk about enjoying the moment you are in, but in a contradictory way are the ones who most want to conquer everything before 30. At 21 years old I include myself in this thought, I will finish college this year and I am already crazy about what I will do for graduate studies, when I will have my own apartment, car, and a lot of things.

Also, even at such a young age I already see friends in a hurry to get married, super anxious about the wedding or even already married and thinking about children. So I ask myself, why is it that the generations that most say that you don’t have to conquer everything before 30 are the ones that are in a hurry the most? Well, there is certainly the point that the country’s economy has been in a bad way for years when we think about the rush to professional life.

When we think about haste in relation to marriage, it is either because the couple wants to have a holy relationship and this leads to an earlier marriage or because of the unhappiness of wanting to leave home soon, due to family problems and they only see this as a possibility if they get married.

Now, in both situations, whether professional or marital, is this prey necessary? Certainly not, first because when we want everything for yesterday, we enter into a competition, meaning that you need to be ahead of others and our parameter for living should not be the lives of others, and the second is that our heart can make plans, but the final decision comes from God. So I wanted to ask you, are you living your life in an unnecessary hurry?

When we are in a hurry, we don’t take advantage of what God has already given us, and this is certainly not good, we get so focused on taking the next step and getting to the next rung that we forget that one day we wanted to be where we are. It is important that we have plans to set a goal, but we can’t focus so much on them that we forget everything else or that we make life a competition with those we live with.

Each person has his or her own time, and more importantly, God has a time for each one, and believe me, His time is perfect. Life is a big puzzle, in which we don’t know which is the final figure to be formed, but our good Father does. So trust and enjoy the step where you are, for there is time for all things. I leave here some passages for you:

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:

a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

21 Many are the plans in a person’s heart,
but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.

Proverbs 19:21
