The renewed in Christ are strangers in this world

The renewed in Christ are strangers in this world

These days a very dear friend of mine passed away, a person who lived to serve and in whom the image of Christ was reflected in every attitude. All my friends, as well as I, were heartbroken, because we did not expect this, but we found comfort in knowing that he was in the arms of the Father, that he had lived in an integral way, made great friends and left a precious legacy.

What is our priority?

I know that I am talking about a death, but this is not meant to be a sad text, only reflective. The day after the death I woke up and remembered the lessons left by this dear person. And something that throughout the day bothered me was: we are here to serve the other and spread the love of Christ, so I ask: do people feel loved by us? Do we show all this care and love?

Are we so focused on our “little world” that we forget about the other? How often do we think that we are going through something much more difficult than the people around us, and so we give ourselves the false right not to give them the attention they need? When our priority is to live for Christ, caring for others becomes natural.

Our goals are no longer placed above people, but become the people, because as children of God, our greatest goal should be to present the love of Christ, the message of the cross, the gospel. And when we are moved by this goal, everything we do becomes aligned with it.

When we understand that our home is heaven, everything changes

We start to live for the glory of God and to fulfill his will on earth. When we understand that our time here is fleeting, we dedicate ourselves more to people than to accumulating riches, because our true wealth is in heave.

This doesn’t mean that we stop running after what we dream of professionally, for example, even because this can be a way to bless lives when we work doing our best. Even going back to my dear friend, he was an extremely successful person, because he gave his best in his profession as an architect, clearly God showered His blessing on his work.

Life is a breath

Our time here is a breath, so may we do our best for each one who crosses our paths, being light and salt on this earth, because one day we will be with the Father and all suffering will have ceased. May God wash comfort for each one who read this text and lost a loved one. I also leave here some passages for today:

Jesus said to him, I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live;

John 11:25

But our city is in heaven, from where we also await the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,
Who will change our body from its infirmity to be conformed to His glorious body, according to His working power to subdue all things also to Himself.

Philippians 3:20,21

But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Matthew 6:20,21

God bless you!
