The importance of discipleship!

Your difficulties, your failures, your sins … with whom have you shared? Who has helped you on your spiritual journey?

I have realized the importance of having people to accompany us in our life with Christ. We cannot walk alone, because together we can grow and learn more about our Father and his principles revealed in the Word. I would like to talk to you a little about this!

Have someone accompany you

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
Hebrews 10: 24-25

The Bible makes it very clear to us the importance of having fellowship with our brothers and encouraging one another.

We all know that a spiritual journey is far from easy. Every day we have struggles, problems, difficulties and sadness that we carry. We are human beings with our limitations; unable to account for all of our problems.

We are often ashamed to confess our sins, to open up any difficulties. We are afraid or even think we don’t need to. However, it is extremely necessary that we understand the need to open our hearts, as this generates growth.

“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”
James 5:16

We need to understand that we don’t have the strength to handle all things alone. We need the help of the Lord and our brothers, so that we do not enter a vicious cycle where we make mistakes, but we do not take action to change, we do not ask for help and that gets in the way in a huge way.

Confession is important

“For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight; so you are right in your verdict and justified when you judge. Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me. Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb; you taught me wisdom in that secret place. Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.”
Psalms 51: 3-7

Above all, the most important thing is to acknowledge our failures before the Lord, for He is the only one who has the power to heal, purify, transform and save. Make confession a habit, pour yourself out every day in the presence of the Lord and break down. Ask Him to put genuine repentance in your heart for your failures.

The Bible tells us that when we confess our sin to the Lord, we receive forgiveness. And in the new covenant, in Christ, the bar is raised and we are taught to confess to God, but also to our brethren, because that way, we are healed.

Jesus talks a lot about sin that is practiced in the mind, without necessarily violating externally or visibly a commandment from God. For example, adultery in the heart or impure and dishonest desires, even if they are not externalized in some practical attitude, are already sins. In this way, when we confess, the sin that was in darkness, which was not known, is brought to light. Satan will not accuse us of what is known, he accuses us of what we hide and try to put aside.

Look for someone you trust, who has a life deep in the Word and who seeks the Lord above all things, so that he can help you in this journey. don’t let your comfort zone keep you from the Lord’s ways.
