Prayer: Saying Goodbye to Jealousy!
Today I want to pray with you about an issue that I see afflicting many people and that can cause so many disagreements: jealousy. This is a difficult feeling to deal with, which takes people off their axis and can even become an obsession.
Jealousy is not only related to the love relationship of a couple, so it can affect any relationship and cause damage that is difficult to repair. I leave here a passage especially for you today:
Incline my heart to your statutes, and not to greed. Turn away my eyes from worthless things; make me live in the paths You have marked out.
Remember that you don’t have to repeat the prayer exactly as I’m going to leave it here, because each one of us has a specific way of communicating with the Lord. But if you want to accompany me, it will be a pleasure, feel free to speak it in your own way.
Prayer
Beloved God, I thank you because I know that you love me so much that it is difficult to imagine such a love. I know that you take care of me and those around me, and for this I thank you. Today my heart is restless, worried, distrustful, afraid of losing important things, fearful, and jealous.
This feeling is consuming me and has not been healthy for me or for those around me. Father I want to build relationships and not destroy them, I know that with jealousy comes destruction as it opens the door to lies from the enemy. So I ask you to take my mind captive to the Lord, shield it with your power so that the enemy can no longer cast any lies upon it that cause me such unrest. Treat in the depths of my being the wounds that make me not trust people.
Today I ask for your help in building healthy relationships, whether they be friendships, romantic relationships, or family relationships. I am grateful to You because no matter how much others are not faithful with me, Your faithfulness lasts forever and that is enough for me.
My Beloved, please help me to deal with the bad feelings within me and may my self-esteem improve, remembering that my Father is the King of all nations and that my identity is in You! My God, Yours is the power, the glory and the honor forever. It is in the name of Jesus that I pray, give thanks and ask that my words may reach the Lord like a sweet perfume!
