Prayer: Right Intention

Prayer: Right Intention

In the last text I talked about how our heart needs to be focused on the correct intention. We must follow God’s paths and desires, always working with the intention that His work is done everywhere through our lives and in the best possible way.

We will never be perfect channels, but we are the imperfect instruments that He perfects at each new stage in the process of building His work. He doesn’t want you to be perfect so that He can use you, He just wants your heart to be generous and humble, totally focused on His voice. And that’s what I want to pray with you about right now.

You don’t need to pray exactly as I’m going to pray here. I know that everyone has a specific way of talking to the Father and it is important to have our intimacy with Him. I want you to feel comfortable talking to Him in your own way. But if you want, I will be happy to accompany you in this prayer.

Prayer

“Father, I am embarrassed to remember how, even without me deserving it, You use me and shape me in Your love.

Instruct and teach my heart to have only Your love as its objective, loving and serving people around me, expressing Your grace and peace through every step I take.

May everything that lives in me have You as its source of breath. Help me to have a servant’s heart, loving and caring for the people around me, being generous and giving the best I have. Not giving and serving only with what I have left, but also sharing what I have. Overflowing onto other people and exuding Your love and grace.

God, may my heart humble itself at Your feet. I wanted to pour myself out before You. Make me an open and purified channel for You to use me and approve me to bring the good news and put Your work into action through my hands. May it reach people, places and situations, bringing light where there was only darkness. May my heart be focused only on this, with the sole intention of spreading Your merciful and transforming love.

I love you, Father. Thank you for loving me even though I didn’t deserve it and using me as an instrument even though I needed to be transformed more every day. Bless my life and guide my steps. May I be a blessing to your children.

In the name of Jesus. Amen!”
