Prayer: Reaching for eternity

Prayer: Reaching for eternity

I want to use this space to pray with you for clarity and depth so that we can prepare ourselves for eternity with the Father. May we walk and act with this purpose, longing for Him and sharing His love and grace with people along our journey.

In this journey, may we love above all, for He loved us first. The love, which is Christ, dwells within us. The Holy Spirit of God resides in me and in you. Therefore, may our response always be one of love and grace.

You don’t need to pray exactly as I’m going to say here. I know that everyone has their way of talking to the Father, and it is important that we individually seek intimacy with Him. Therefore, feel comfortable talking to the Lord in your own way. But if you want, I will be happy to accompany you in this prayer.

Prayer

Father, I come before You today to ask for clarity, not to know all the steps I will take in life and have a false sense of control, but so that I can see You and hear You.

I don’t need to understand eternity, but I want to fear it and long for it. Bible makes it clear to us that we are pilgrims, that with every step and action, we are walking towards the Kingdom, taking people with us, living to speak of Your love, grace and mercy.

Lord, guide me along paths of righteousness, so that with each step I am closer to You and more like You. Strengthen my faith, so that, even in the face of tribulations, I can persevere, knowing that life is beyond everything I experience here today, and that is the true reward.

Teach my heart to love. First, to love You, Lord, and myself, to learn more every day how to love people around me, giving myself for them and serving them, just as Your Son Jesus did for me.

May every act of love, every word of kindness and every gesture of forgiveness become seeds, generating many fruits for eternity, extending blessings beyond the present time, helping in the details of building Your Kingdom.

I want to live in constant communion with You, to desire Your presence at all times, both spiritually today and, soon, in Eternity. It is for You that I live and it is to find You that I want to walk. Help me and teach me to speak about You with truth and depth, so that I can guide people to Your paths.

May I find comfort in the promise of eternal life at Your side and be a channel of Your peace for everyone around me.

It is in the name of Jesus that I pray. Amen.
